Good discussion about success/ unfucking one's life, how it can all make musicians' experiences less relatable for the fans who got them in the position of experiencing that success in the first place.

Food porn (a geometric fruit arragement I made on a plate). Can you identify all the fruit in there?

Food porn (a geometric fruit arragement I made on a plate). Can you identify all the fruit in there? That looks really good. I'll take a swing at guessing. Cherries, mango, kiwi, blackberries, raspberries, green and purple grapes, apples and pink guava.

Guess the grapes and the berries were pretty obvious. And that's a cherry in the middle indeed. Cherries have been very expensive these past couple of years here, so the only ones I've had weren't bought. They were from various cherry trees I happened to pass by. And that's not many because they don't last long after they fall on the ground and there are rarely any ripe ones still hanging within my reach. But sometimes I might find a nice ripe one fallen on the ground or hanging low enough for me to get to it. The yellow fruit bits around the cherry (and around the plate edge, next to the grapes) aren't mango, they're small apricots from my aunt's garden. They're a smaller variety and more yellowish than orange, but they're very sweet. The yellowish green slices aren't kiwi, they're the 8 slices I split a big prune plum (also from my aunt's garden) in. They're the most common ones we have here. My mom's parents used to also have Damson plums in their garden, as well as the pink variety (no idea what they're called). Fun note: when making țuică (hard liquor), one should never leave the discarded fruit where the geese can get to them. Because they're totally going to get drunk on those and you're going to have to break up what can only be described as a drunken geese bar fight. I've also seen Mirabelles sold at the market (my mom likes those), though I do't think I've ever seen them in a tree? We also get the round, reddish Chinese varieties in stores. Fun fact: Romania is the second biggest plum producer in the world after China. I don't think there's a single household here where țuică or magiun (a sort of dense plum jam) never got made. I first drank țuică when I was 4 years old. The 8 red slices between them are from a pluot. Around the plate edge, there are the 8 slices of a nectarine (which I guess is what got identified as apple) and the 8 slices of a peach. From my aunt's garden as well. The little cuboids are watermelon. Never had actual mango or guava... not unless ice cream/ chocolate with mango sauce/ filling counts. Don't even think I've ever seen guava here, though some of the big supermarket chains do sell mangos. But they're exotic stuff and that's not cheap. Somehow I've never tried the actual kiwi fruit either. Though the first time I ever tasted kiwi was as a soft drink in the '90s, when these machines popped up here: Somehow they were massively popular because save for home-made compote, there were almost no sweetened drinks here before the 90s. There were only two occasions when I recall encounering something like that: when we went to the seaside in '87 and then for my next birthday party at the kindergarten, my dad somehow got some. So yeah, when those machines popped up in the '90s, they were very popular. People would queue with those wide mouth milk bottles and they'd fill them up to take them home.

We kept getting bear alerts in the past 12 hours. Three of them, all mentioning the bear was seen on nearby streets I often get to. Bears are not an uncommon sight here. I don't need to walk for more than 40-50 minutes to get to the edge of the forest. Hope this one will be okay. It's not exactly safe for them if they end up on the big streets. Or in places that are very unlike their habitat. A bear died two months ago after it got into a mall, went up to the higher floors and fell from there.

Don't drive too close behind a truck carrying wood. This happened here nearby. Also, the car has a Vienna number, so in this case it probably means a fucked holiday too.

Discussion about birth anomalies: three legs aren't practical, you won't find trousers, but if you have two heads, you could eat with both! Hm... this sounds interesting if you think about ice cream! There are these ice cream places where they may have quite a few varieties you'd like to try, but a lot of them and a single cone may not work that well. However, if split on two cones, eating each with one head before the ice cream gets a chance to melt and drip...

Birds need water too, especially on hot days. So leave something out for them if you can.
After a moody start of August with hot days alternating with thunderstorms, we had about a cool week and then a hot one, with zero rain.
Today at the cemetery, I saw crows going from grave to grave and sinking their heads into each flower vase to drink some water out of there.

Best thing that happened to me today: discovering two pigeon nests in the area! First because a little one was loudly!!! excited about getting fed. And the second because... well, they may drop their construction materials... and it may happen they land on your head! Hey, at least it wasn't shit!
