"I got terminal uniqueness I'm an egocentric man I get caught up in my freakness But I ain't no Peter Pan "
Some really good heavy guitar parts, and definitely some of the better 2nd gen lyrics as well. Not sure why I could never really get into this one though. I don't dislike it like Janie or India, but it doesn't grab me as much as maybe it should. Maybe because it's too slow to be a true rocker and too heavy to be a ballad? I guess that identity crisis serves the message of the song perfectly though, in some artistic way.
"And I'm sure to get a brain...tonight!"
Your thoughts?

I used to really like this song when it came off but just like the rest of 9 Lives, it didn't really age well for me. I used to listen to the album a lot back in the day but it has probably been 15 years.

This was definitely one of the stronger songs off 9 Lives for me, maybe a little over produced but crank it up man, and sing along!

Definitely one of the better songs on 9 Lives. I too however just don't seem to listen to it any more.

I like this one a lot. It has a nice heavy feel to it, which is a good change for this album, except for the title track.

The first Aerosmith show I ever went to was July 1997 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. I went to the first night of a back to back. It was an amazing show, I was blown away. However the one downer was when I checked the set-list for the second night, I saw they played The Farm. They actually played a few more songs that night, but The Farm was always the one that bummed me out the most.
That was the track that really jumped out to me when I first heard 9 Lives. It was hard and heavy with great lyrics. I was only 16 at the time, so still in that window where certain songs are a big part of my youth. The Farm still brings me back to that time, and reminds me that I bought tickets for the wrong night...

I couldn't get all the way through this one when the album was first released. And it is still the same. Got about 1:30 in and had enough.

The Farm still brings me back to that time, and reminds me that I didn’t buy tickets for both nights... Fixed it for you Seriously though, i’ll often look at a bands setlist from the two or three gigs prior to the show i’m attending so I have an idea on what “my” show is going to be like, and it’s sometimes so annoying when they miss a song you were hoping to see live! Once, one of the support bands at a gig pissed around with guitar solos so much they had to skip playing their big number that everyone wanted to hear as they ran out of time! They’d saved it until last but then couldn’t play it!

I call them unicorn songs. My Aerosmith unicorn is Chip Away the Stone. I think I'm just cursed with that one always making sets on the tours I see, but not at the very shows I see. Mama Kin as well, though in this case it wasn't the show right before or right after, there was a gap of at least one show both in 2010 and 2017.

By the way, wtf is a piata? I always thought the line was "sanity it ain't got a feeling like a beating" here is one I suppose for the misheard lyrics thread.

Not my favorite track off of Nine Lives, but not my least favorite, either. I got to see this live at (I think) my very first Aerosmith show in 1997, and I'm pretty sure it was a part of the encore. It had a nice energy live, I remember that.
This is another of a string of songs on that album that had the mental health theme. Better content than just love, love, love I suppose.
Overall not a song I seek out to listen to, but I don't mind it. I appreciate it's uniqueness, I suppose....

I like it. I really appreciate the effort. They seem to have made an attempt to get back to the blues. But, it just didn't work out as well as say Hangman Jury or St. John.
