Not exactly today, but still this weekend...
That when I introduced myself as an "authentic Transylvanian vampire" before a Kreator show years ago, they thought the "authentic Transylvanian" part was as bullshit as the "vampire" part.

What splooting means. From this tweet (with lots of adorable photos of animals doing this in the replies).

I saw a bluejay do something similar in my front yard once. It had its wings all splayed out and was laying out in the yard. I never saw a bird do that before. I asked my aunt about it, she's a birdwatcher, and she said it's the birds way of cleaning it's wings.

I didn't realize that was a thing, but it 100% happened to me many years ago. The rest of the article doesn't line up with my experience, but the headline does.
The 'ghost' in my experience was a soothing one which was comforting me that everything was going to be ok.
I realize I'm telling this story backwards, and I've probably mentioned this experience before, but here is the context:
I was around 19 years old, taking a mid-day nap. In my dream I was driving. I was looking down at the radio and when I looked up I was shocked to see a train about to cross the road right in front of me. It was so close that I knew applying the brakes would only guarantee my certain bloody death, so I floored the accelerator and barely made it over the tracks in time. I felt incredible relief as I turned my head to see the train passing just past my rear bumper. I turned back to the front windshield only to see....another train with no chance of avoiding it this time! That's when I snapped into that state of paralysis between waking and sleeping. My eyes opened just a slit but I couldn't move my body at all. Through the slit of my eyelids I saw a ghostly women figure walking serenely past my bed and assuring me that I was going to be ok. Very realistic and I'm still not sure it wasn't an actual figure.

Germans don't just decorate trees on Christmas, but also on Easter, when they hang decorated eggs from the branches of trees. In some parts of Bavaria, they also decorate fountains.

We have pretty much the same density of hairs on our bodies as chimps. It just doesn't look that way because most of the hair on our bodies is vellus hair.

If you're noticing that kind of hair density, you're likely a highly advanced species of Vampire; the Vampire-Werewolf hybrid!

If you actually don't have it, then that's a reason to see a dermatologist.

The crash occurred due to poor visibility caused by an anti-mosquito fog covering the road.

We were given the option to hike to the top of it at sunrise on our honeymoon. We chose sleep instead.
In Billy Joel's words paraphrased today "England got a new King." Just watched the coronation. I don't feel like debating royalism and whatnot (so please don't come at me, I'm an ignorant American who is married to someone who is an anglophile who greatly admired the previous monarch). Anyway, as a result of my ignorance I wanted to learn a little bit about the coronation so I came across this video of things not readily known. Kinda interesting.
