Because this album turns 34 today... here's the title track.
Probably the finest anti-religion song ever written.

Die Toten Hosen - Alles wird vorübergehen (Everything Will End)
Suits my mood as I'm mourning the loss of concerts.

I usually don't stick with much contemporary music but this year's been so good so far. Lots of singles, music videos and albums dropping across many genres and countries! Sorry for the long list but I was making a playlist of 2020 music so I though of spamming a few videos lol!

Loved Under the Graveyard since it came out, brilliant song. Love the title track with Elton John too. Good album from Ozzy.
Never been a big Marilyn Manson fan, but I did listen to the recent stuff and he's doing a good job at selling the songs, conveying a mood.
The Deep Purple album is solid.
Not familiar with the rest.
I surprisingly got into My Dying Bride this spring. Never been a big fan, their style isn't one I can usually get into, I generally prefer my music to be more animated... but somehow I got to listen some stuff off the new album on repeat. Guess what you end up liking really is a state of mind.
The new Paradise Lost is another one I ended up listening to quite a bit. Darker Thoughts is just haunting.
Again, I think this says a bit more about my mood lately than anything else.
Still trying to decide how I feel about the new Primal Fear. Found the first single underwhelming, but then it got better.
A bit mixed about the new Kreator single. Love the first part, love that "world is in flames", but everyone chanting "we are united" - nah. Was cool on the Wacken stream though.
The new Annihilator kicks some serious ass.
Love Biff's solo album, both the covers and the original stuff. This one's inspired by the Poe short story.
Other than that, can't thing of anything else that was recent. Oh, wait, the new Lamb of God. Eh. Kinda mixed about it.

My issue with current rock and metal is that it all sounds the same. Like they're all stuck in the 80s, use the same riffs and same vocal techniques, same visuals...it was fun to follow for me years ago when I was younger and going out with different people but now I'm not attracted to that world anymore. Granted there are a few artists I still find enjoyable and have a more distinctive artistic vision I find myself skipping most of these releases. Honestly I find more artistry and experimental sounds in more pop music, especially from Japan. Now I'm still digesting the new Deep Purple album, it's fun I have tickets for their next tour which got pospostend. I already saw them a few years ago and it was pretty sad but hey, the band still played well. Vocals were barely there tho.
Lordi last album is also pretty fun it is composed in 70s 80s and 90s style

The new Annihilator kicks some serious ass. When did Jeff take on lead vocals? I haven't followed Annihilator in many years, but interviewed Jeff upon the release of Alice In Hell, and saw them open for Testament on the Practice What You Preach tour. Randy Rampage (Ex-D.O.A., and sadly actually DOA) was the singer. Badass show! The next year, on the Never Neverland tour, he returned with a weaker record and an 80's cheeseball type singer. I lost interest. Nice to see him persevering though. You hear nothing of Annihilator in Canada, but they do OK in Europe, it seems.

Watched the Murder In The Front Row doc the other day. Had me digging out the old Exodus.

Over 5 years ago, when his previous vocalist quit because he couldn't handle touring and being away from family so much anymore. It was Jeff on vocals when they came to Romania in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Works for the King of the Kill type of songs, even if he's struggling with others. Still a monster on guitar either way. I need to watch Murder in the Front Row too.
