Celebrating some unforgettable guitar heroes by Atlanta Journal-Constitution Apr. 29 2021 @ 5:36pm
.......
Joe Perry. Probably the coolest guy in rock 'n' roll next to his Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler (and OK, Keith Richards belongs in that sentence, too). Equally influenced by the Beatles and Hendrix, Perry is also a wicked blues player, shades of which casual fans hear on "Sweet Emotion" and "Same Old Song and Dance." But his depth — evidenced on "Hangman Jury" — was on impressive display during the band's pandemic-shortened residency in Las Vegas. ........

BTS' Butter marks fifth week at number 1 spot on Billboard's HOT 100 music charts; becomes first group since Aerosmith to hold record By - TIMESOFINDIA.COM Updated: Jun 29, 2021, 09:33 IST "What is happening?" asked BTS in an official Twitter post, after it was confirmed that their hit summer single, 'Butter' has maintained its hold over the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The K-Pop stars made a smashing debut on the Billboard HOT 100 music charts on the number 1 spot and extended their reign for the 5th consecutive week. With this, the 'Butter' became the first number 1 debut by a single group in Billboard Hot 100 history to spend its first 5 weeks at the top of the charts. The last band to hold this record was Aerosmith, with their 1998 hit song, 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' that featured in the Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis starrer 'Armourgeddon'.Hitting a new high, the K-Pop band also equalled Ed Sheeran's record. 'Butter' is now the first song since Sheeran's 2017 hit 'Shape of You' to achieve over 100,000 sales in each of its first 5 weeks of release. As far as their music video is concerned, it surpassed 400 million views on YouTube, becoming their 13th MV to do so. Also showing no signs of budging from their top spots was Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat who maintained their hold over the top spots. Read Also BTS drops cool concept photos for 'Butter' CD; 'King' Jimin lauded for breaking gender stereotypes and wearing a mini skirt BTS is currently gearing up to drop their 'Butter' CD. Ahead of the big launch next month, the boys have been sharing cool concept photoshoot images. Last night, the boys treated fans to their mugshots that saw them standing in line against a wall with different levels of heart rates. BTS is guilty of making hearts race in new 'Butter' concept photoshoot; ARMY go gaga over band's mugshots in heart-shaped handcuffs The concept of the shoot is derived from the band's hit 'Butter' music video. Interestingly, the boards they are holding up in the photo shoot, appear to be the same as the ones they had in the music video. RM, V, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, JungKook and SUGA had revealed the secret meaning behind the numbers on their boards that ranged from birth dates to coded language "I miss you."

From the Las Vegas Review Journal on May 19: "Jonas Brothers have rescheduled their dropped dates at Park Theater at Park MGM. The brothers are set to play at 7 p.m. Aug. 20-21.
They are the third act booked to return to the venue, following Bruno Mars’ six return dates for his residency beginning July 1-2. Guitar great Joe Bonamassa is booked Aug. 6. MGM Resorts International execs have said Lady Gaga, Cher and Aerosmith all are expected to announce their returns to the venue this year."
Definitely waiting for this announcement!

Kind of half listening to the radio at work, they were talking about early concert experiences. It caught my attention when one of them said "Aerosmith was a mess, but The Beach Boys were excellent"

Watched "Guitar Man" about Joe Bonamassa yesterday... due to the involvement of Kevin Shirley there were a few mentions of Aerosmith. And then during one of the later clips showing behind the scenes from album recording sessions involving Brad you could see him in the background for maybe 20-30 seconds...

Weezer ~ I Need Some of That (Just a punk in the streets...dreaming on?)
Summer time, I press rewind
And go back to a simple place
When I was just a little punk
Daydreaming of my escape
Listening to Aerosmith
Later on I will call my mom
Now I'm pluggin' into a Marshall stack
I can be anything I want
I need some of that
It's just what I need
I need some of that
We'll be riding our ten-speeds
I need some of that
Even if we blow up
We're never gonna grow up
This is where it's at
I've been around, around the world
And I've seen all kinds of hoods
But this is mine, it's dear to me
'Cause here I'm understood
'Cause I need some of that
Don't ever leave me
I need some of that
There's nothing on TV
I need some of that
Even if we blow up
We're never gonna grow up
This is where it's at
Even when the sun was fading
I was in my hatchback raging
Riding up and down this block
'Cause I owned this block
I need some of that
It's just what I need
I need some of that
We'll be riding our ten-speeds
Even if we blow up
We're never gonna grow up
'Cause this is where it's at
I need some of that
Shake it up, baby
I need some of that
Driving me crazy
I need some of that
Even if we blow up
We're never gonna grow up
'Cause I need some of that
What was that one?
Mhm
Okay, this is top secret shit, you're not supposed to, like
Film these boards
It's got all our ideas on it
Plus, you're not supposed to film him
Yeah, you can't film me
He's copyrighted
Can't film what?
I've got a copyright on this face
So you're saying that I can't do this?
No, you can't do that, you can't film
