I might think that some things have been left off the list, but there are some great songs here. To call them all cheap and trash because "they're 80s music" is beyond ridiculous. You will defend Oh Yeah and Luv XXX but call Love Hurts trash? Wow. I said "most" of them not all of them and it just happens that love hurts is not an 80s song. I'm not even a big fan of LUV XXX while yes I do like Oh Yeah quite a lot.

So it’s bad just because it’s not an 80’s song? The list says power ballads not ballads or power ballads from the 80’s. Btw the #1 song on the list “Dream On” isn’t an 80’s song either (just in case you missed that).

To arbitrarily dismiss a entire decade of music as trashy simply because of the decade it came from is the epitome of close-mindedness. To me, Nikki Minaj dryhumping the floor in a thong while singing about giant penises is low rent and trashy. Not Whitesnake singing about child abuse and neglect.

What exactly is a "power ballad"? Does it have to be 1980s or before? Does it have to come from the "hair metal" era? I think there are a lot of power ballads even today....Just for fun, here are my favorite 25 power ballads, in no particular order:
1. Dream On - Aerosmith 2. Seasons of Wither - Aerosmith 3. What It Takes - Aerosmith 4. Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) - Motley Crue 5. Don't Cry - Guns N' Roses 6. I Remember You - Skid Row 7. Love Hurts - Nazareth 8. All Or Nothing - Theory of a Deadman 9. Better Man - Pearl Jam 10. Better Than Me - Hinder 11. Soul to Squeeze - Red Hot Chili Peppers 12. Thank You - Led Zeppelin 13. Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin 14. Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone - Cinderella 15. Yesterdays - Guns N' Roses 16. Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad - Def Leppard 17. Ordinary World - Duran Duran 18. One - U2 19. Somewhere Out There - Our Lady Peace 20. Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd / Shinedown 21. Free Fallin' - Tom Petty 22. Name - Goo Goo Dolls 23. Lips of An Angel - Hinder 24. Learning To Fly - Pink Floyd 25. Far Behind - Candlebox

oh gosh stop taking me so seriously. I don't like most of 80s music but I don't automatically despise everything coming from that decade. I just think that rock took a very cheesy and commercial twist in the 80s. And this list in my opinion focuses too much on 80s trash songs rather than "the best power ballads of all time". I think you should all be more sarchastic and see my posts with a little more irony, I really don't take these discussions THAT seriously. I don't like 80s music and most of the people here absolutely don't like country or pop for whatever reasons and absolutely hate the idea of Steven recording a country album.
