I love Michael Jackson and am not afraid to admit it. He was the greatest mover/dancer in the history of music. I enjoy watching Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger prance around onstage, and I loved David Lee Roth's athleticism, but it's rare to look at a musician and be blown away by his performances from a dance perspective. Michael Jackson is pretty much the only famous popstar that I'd ever classify as a "Great" dancer -- he was, like, superhumanly light on his feet, he had a superhuman level of mastery over his body, and he was able to do things with his legs and body that boggled the mind. He was also one of the leading innovators/contributors/founding fathers of the genre of hip-hop dance. So many hip-hop dance basics, like popping and locking joints, came from Michael Jackson. He was a genius of a dancer.
I'm not that into hip-hop dancing myself, I'm a ballet person. But, a good dancer is a good dancer, and it's hard not to appreciate Michael Jackson's genius-level dancing talent.
I have a lot of guilty pleasure music. I find it hard to listen to Ke$ha, but I found a great doo-wop cover of Ke$ha and Pitbull's "Timber" that I've been listening to for a week.

And I love techno music, and I love eighties pop tunes. I saw some of these names down in the shoutbox and felt inspired to post some videos of eighties pop tunes:
Spandau Ballet - "True"
Thompson Twins - "Hold Me Now"
Flock of Seagulls - "I Ran"
A Flock of Seagulls - "Space Age Love Song"
Level 42 - Something About You
Talk Talk - "It's My Life"

Reunion ~ "Life is a Rock" and I used to be able to sing it too. x3, another huge fan of this song. I used to carry around a little transistor radio just waiting for them to play it again, which they seemed to do at least once per hour. Then I would bust out my best attempt to keep up with it. I had about 95% of it down, and I can still do the first verse or so. It kind of reminds me of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire", except my attempt at that sounds like this: ♫ ♪ "Something something something words words words...Marilyn Monroe!" ♪ I am so cranking this in the car in about 5 minutes! Transistor radio.. You're old

Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar) REO Speedwagon (up through Hi Infidelity) I didn't realize these were guilty pleasures. In that case, I also love basically everything Van Halen did from 1978-1991. Regarding post-1991 material, I like only a few songs on Balance, both the Twister songs, and the new songs they put on both greatest hits records as well. Their new album with DLR is just OK...only like a few songs. I like DLR and Sammy's solo hits too. Van Halen is one of my Top 5 favorite bands (and I probably couldn't say that if I didn't like both Sammy and Dave). I like REO Speedwagon, as well as similar bands like Foreigner, Journey, Styx, etc

I think there's really no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Aerosmith could be considered a 'guilty pleasure' by many. It's all a matter of perspective. Classical music is the only kind of music I like that nobody has ever made fun of me for (most people feel as if they "ought to" like classical music)
But Aerosmith is definitely "guilty pleasure music" for many, just as Van Halen or any other rock band can be considered a guilty-pleasure.
I don't think any of my music is really a guilty pleasure. If anyone said anything about any of the music I listen to, I guess I'd just say "I'm sorry that you don't understand why this music is great." I don't really feel embarrassed by any of the music I listen to.

Agree completely. Well stated. I had a hard time compiling my short list, and kind of went with what I have heard in the general public. But I love the music I love and make not apologies.

Ooo...I forgot a really good/bad one...Ace of Base. I bought their album "The Sign" when it was really popular in 1994 when I was a kid. Then I became a teenager and threw it in the trash in embarrassment. Now, I've since downloaded the hits on iTunes and sort of wish I had that album back. Part nostalgia, part guilty pleasure.

I was a long haired metal head in high school. Back concert shirt ripped jeans and a dangly 80's earring lol. I want to say I bought that single too.. If I liked a random pop song I would by the 2 song cassette.. I still have alot of my cassettes so I just ran for confirmation. I didn't have that one, but I did have Ace of Base "All that she wants" hahah. Ok, I might be a little embarrased about that one but usually I don't give a fuck There is a chance that may have been an old girlfriends but I may have bought it too. I don't remember liking it but I did alot of drinking and drugging back then haha. A couple other random singles I know liked and bought were US3 - Cantaloop Bjork - Human Behaviour The Proclaimers - 100 miles Young MC - Bust a Move
