Great album. The last true Aerosmith album. Saw the tour with Nugent opening. Great double bill

Same here!!!!Album is great
I saw the Nugent/Aerosmith tour at Rochester War Memorial.
My Second Concert EVER (1st was Adam & the Ants)....
Aerosmith still had some danger/edge to them, it was fantastic.
As for Nugent....I liked the part where he pulled a HOT girl out of the audience during Little Miss Dangerous.
Good Times.

Lakeland Civic Center on Joe Perry's birthday. A hot chick in lingerie brought out a cake and Ted came out, shook Perry's hand and made off with the girl.
I thought Aerosmith was great cause they were still a hot mess but all my friends felt otherwise. Nugent did bury them on stage.

Seattle, Des Moines and Syracuse 1986 are some of my favorite Aerosmith bootlegs ever.
There is a full daytime last show of the tour online but the video quality is a little rough.

Templeman did not make it sound like VH thank God. Aerosmith was ALWAYS best when they were a hot mess! Raw rock n roll.

Love this album. Saw the same show as Jason, Rochester War Memorial with Nugent. They were fresh out of rehab and played a ripping set.Still throw this for a listen. I actually know quite a few people who dig this album. Kind of a hidden gem.

Good album although some of the songs sound unfinished. Not surprising considering their state of mind.
Not as good as 'Rock in a Hard Place' but definitely better (darker and I can hear the guitars!) than 'Permanent Vacation'.
Saw the tour with Y&T around this time and the Smith boys were on their best behavior. Great show.

DWM is pretty bad, but I can't think of a record that more Sludgers like to play at being a hipster over. (Maybe Metallica's black album?)
If you're on Metal Sludge and you like Sludge kind of music, then just admit that Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip are better than 98% of the other records of the era. Don't try to have it both ways by being all into Trixter and Ratt and Poison but also saying "Done With Mirrors" is the last great Aerosmith album. You can maybe get away with that on some other website, but not here.
DWM has its moments because it's an Aerosmith record and they're a legitimately great band, but lots of records that don't have ballads aren't good. "Let the Music Do the Talking" is alright but not as good as the original Joe Perry Project version. But the album isn't "great" or even "good", and you don't have to say it is just because you don't like "Cryin".
If you want to talk about Aerosmith and sound like a hipster, talk about Rocks like a normal person.

certainly wouldn't call it the last great album but it is the last album by the same band who made Rocks and a lot of people are very fond of it for just that reason. And even though they are still active as a touring band with the occasional new song, they will never put out anything even this good ever again.
Funny thing is they almost stumbled again with Get A Grip which had disappointing initial sales but was saved by Alicia Silverstone 6 months later. If they abandoned the album, pulled the plug on the tour and went back to the drawing board perhaps the album would have a small but vocally intense contingent of true believers praising it as a hidden gem much like MC94 or Native Tongue. Personally I liked that one at first but it's a little bloated and hasn't held up.
