The album is great. It is Steven's last flawless vocal delivery. After this he started developing some annoying vocal tendencies. Starting with PV he resorts to yelling and screaming too much, also starts doing too many "yeahs","woooos", "ohhhhs". On DWM and albums before it Steven just seems do be like these songs RocK, I don't need to yell and scream.

I guess I like "terrible" songs. Who knew? I got this song ranked 5 stars out of 5 on my music player. Who the hell makes these lists, do they like rock n' roll? If they needed an Aerosmith song, couldn't they find something on Just Push Play. Outta Your Head maybe?

Off topic, but I hate that sort of list/ slideshow presentation format. On topic, it's in my top three songs from DWM. And I like all songs from DWM. If they wanted a terrible song from Aerosmith they could have checked out Luv Lies. Or WAFD.

Toledo May 6th 1986. Now THIS is a fucking setlist! Crazily enough I don't think I've ever heard a live version of She's On Fire. That in the same setlist with The Hop pure fucking gold. I probably could have nipped and poked for just the Done With Mirrors songs on Youtube but the whole show is just too fucking good. On a side note I've never seen Done With Mirrors tour footage were the auditorium isn't full and the crowd completely into it. Don't know how this album was considered a failer, by some, not what I get from the time at all.
Rats in the Cellar Same Old Song and Dance Big Ten Inch Record (Bull Moose Jackson cover) My Fist Your Face Last Child She's on Fire Walkin' the Dog (Rufus Thomas cover) The Hop Sweet Emotion Red House (The Jimi Hendrix Experience cover) Back in the Saddle Shela Walk This Way Let the Music Do the Talking Toys in the Attic Dream On The Train Kept A-Rollin'

I enjoy this album It was released just as I began collecting music of my own. Though I enjoy 70's Aero first and foremost, I dug the edge of this album from the time I bought the cassette. There is a darkness to it (pun intended) that I relish. Always harken back to an interview with Steven in which he said the raunchy guitar and bombast are the 'core' of Aerosmith and I wish they had not strayed SO far from it. Do I mind branching out, growing, broadening range? No. On the other hand, a band that created Lord of the Thighs and Rats in the Cellar is now proud of a duet with Carrie Underwood. DWM is a dirty shot of hard rock with that murkiness and bit of frenzied band who's clawing their way back. I still love the band. Not a stickler who pees on anything from MTV era forward, (like PV and Pump a lot) but I can't stomach anything after Nine Lives. Done With Mirrors keeps it simple and makes a statement, even if no one was quite ready to hear it.
Now that music labels don't hold all the power, can we please get the 5 members in a studio to, in Joe's words..."Tuning? Later for that--let's just see how loud we can get." MFAD was only a fraction of that which got so homogenized and neutered. This time, no outside writers, no guest backing vocals, no pop star lending Mr. Tyler a song idea. Just let the 5 brothers contribute (though I would be okay if that didn't include lead vocals from anyone but Steve lol). They can't recapture the 70's or even the 80's, but maybe they can at least go out on a high note.

Never understood why they left Darkness off the original release. Seemed like a good mellow way to end the LP as they did with "You See My Crying" "Home Tonight" and "Mia."

I never knew it wasn't on the original.. Interesting.. I always thought if "One Way Street" and "Thighs" had a baby it would have been "Darkness". The parents are both far superior but Darkness is still a great song.
