I don't follow politics much because in my opinion, no matter how much a candidate is loved, they are hated by the end of their term. Just the sad truth.
That being said, I WAS leaning toward Hilary by default, because 1) the thought of reality star Trump in office would make the US a huge laughing stock, and 2) he is a huge fucking racist, sexist and bigot. But now, seeing all the BS with Clinton, I don't know anymore. Is this really the only 2 choices we are stuck with?

I'm so turned around this year. I cannot see a world where Donald Trump is in charge of the free world. It's like voting for Biff in Back to the Future 2. But Hillary is such a connsumate liar, career politician and scandal maker/avoider. She's the very establishment she pretends to fight against.
Unfortunately I can't think of anyone better either. I'm so disenfranchised with politicians and their bullshit I can't summon any to mind that I would be happy or proud to vote for.
This is what we've come down to. Sad isn't it?

I wish Trump would give me a reason to vote for him. Watching all the stooges at these conventions makes my skin crawl, and just the fact that someone was able to hijack one of the two parties really is quite an accomplishment. That said his campaign his just so damn negative. I was hoping to see a second phase of his strategy kick in at some point, maybe do something to inspire people. But it appears he is just a 69 year old man-child with a horrible Twitter addiction.

Gary Johnson the libertarian canadate has said a lot of good things and is at least focusing on the issues. Problems with him A. he has no chance of being elected. B. His position on abortion has been going too far conservative over the years. And even though he's not as bad as Ron Paul was in this area but leaving terrorist countries like Iran alone cannot achieve postive resuts. On can understand however the lessons of the Iraq war that too much intervention in the wrong ways can lead to disaterous results.

I feel I have followed this as close as anyone, I have not heard Donald Trump say one thing racist. Not one thing sexist. and his actions in life do not point to that either. I don't care that he used bankruptcy of some of his corporations to move on. He is a blowhard. He is arrogant. He can be childish. I can live with that. He will get my vote and I believe he will be incredible for the country.
This email thing. I have watched them from the first interview saying it was Russians. They are bullies themselves making up narratives and lies. I am an independent having voted democrat more than republican. The other republican candidates having committed in writing to support Trump, and all this shit going on with the democrats. I want to throw up.

This is my youngest son's first opportunity to vote in a presidential election. He is completely bummed out. I share his loss of enthusiasm.

I like a lot of Libertarian ideas.

Although I also think Trump is an arrogant, quick-to-react blowhard with little self-control, I think he will be much better than Clinton in turning this country around (even if he has to piss off a lot of people in the interim). And accusations of racist, sexist, etc. are tiring. It seems whenever anybody says anything critical about a minority (even if it's true), they are instantly branded as racist, homophobe, etc. Meanwhile, it seems to be open season on the majority, we have no rights, and we are slowly and silently becoming the minority. Maybe then we'll have some rights and people will stick up for us.
That said, I do wish Trump would stick to the issues everybody cares about (economy, defense, taxes), stop being so personal in his attacks, and stop being so thin-skinned. It detracts big-time from his message and makes him look childish. Funny, but his kids come across much better and much more reasonable than he does.
Hillary sucks!!! Totally contrived and disingenuous.

These days you get attacked for simply having a negative opinion of something related to a minority group. Hell, people can't even point out the new Ghostbusters movie sucks without being labeled misogynists and haters. So many simpletons consider themselves "progressive" and feel all enlightened because they latch onto whatever the latest social issue of the month is. Anything that pushes that agenda exceeds their criteria for greatness regardless of substance, and they attack anyone who evaluates the merit of the whole package. This is such a big part of Shillary's campaign (and yes both parties do this). Nobody can do anything that could even slightly offend any type of minority group, even if it is in the interest of fairness or simply adhering to laws. I respect a person of such high values, but of course she has no problem killing unborn babies, fuck them they can't vote for 18+ years anyway. The fetus killers however, prime candidates for Slummin' with Shillary '16.

Kinda refreshing to read this thread because everyone is not saying TRUMP ROCKS or HILLARY ROCKS or WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS IF YOU SUPPORT xxxxxxx CANDIDATE. Maybe I'm just Facebook friends with a bunch of idiots, I don't know. I will say, it's pretty insane the election has come down to this. I'll be voting for Trump, but I'm not very happy about it. I don't think the guy is really a "racist" or "sexist," per se. I think he's got a big mouth and doesn't have a censor and says things he shouldn't. But I don't think he genuinely dislikes women or people of xxxxxxx color or feels above them more than he feels above ANYONE. I lean conservative and have quite disliked Hillary for a long time, but if she had played her cards right and had a squeaky clean campaign this time, she MAY have been able to persuade me. But she just doesn't stop with the lies. She says "I didn't do it," turns out she did. About everything. Over and over and over and over and over again. She doesn't learn. There's no doubt it will happen if she is president. It's like...she's had the country's welfare in her hands before and compromised it time and time again. I KNOW what will happen. Trump is...well, the bottom of the barrel, but at least we don't KNOW, for SURE, what will happen with him. Not for SURE. Also, fwanger, thanks for giving me the first hearty laugh of the day with the OP.

The comments about the Kahn family were not even close to racist nor were they offensive. No one mentioned race at all. The comments about the judge were a valid concern in a legal proceeding and a legal move that any good lawyer would make in such a proceeding. Typical LibTard spin.
