Desperado and Halo of Flies. Awesome songs...my brain tingles just reading the titles. lol...as I mentioned in my first post, "unapologetic". Some of these songs give us an outlet for all our crazy thoughts that could have much...darker outcomes if left to fester.

Never gave Alice much of a listen. Know all the hits, I'm Eighteen was a favorite for a long time. Got to meet him once when I was working at a Walmart in Scottsdale some years back. Very gracious. So Ana, Coop, everyone else. If one wanted to start getting into Alice, where would you recommend they begin? Love It To Death, Killer, Schools Out, Billion Dollar Babies, Muscle Of Love to start. The rawest and Juiciest stuff is from the original band. I must agree with Ana Killer is just that killer and my favorite, I think, Alice album. Coop is on the ball with From The Inside as I've stated before my favorite non orginal band album.
VoodooMedicineman excellent sugguestion with Brutal Planet maybe my second favorite non original band album. Very heavy dark industrial sounding to a slight extent too. I remember seeing the tour behind this album before having heard the album. I went out and bought it shortly thereafter.
Speaking of that tour pretty fucking cool to hear It's Hot Tonight, Caught In A Dream, and You Drive Me Nervous in that setlist.
And lastly give Raise Your Fist And Yell A try if your looking for heavy metal Alice. Not sure where I'd put this album on my favorites list as Alice has such and expansive body of work. But I will say I'll always have a tender effection for Roses On White Lace.

I'm always delighted when I find old footage Me too love the old days. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Alice would have wrote lyrics to all those songs Michael Bruce was always writing. (think I would have liked it more than Welcome To My Nightmare. 1974 was an odd final year for the original band I never realized the South American shows happened that year.

Alright Alice fans let us know what kind of stuff you have in your Alice collection here is mine music first maybe memorabilia later (hope you’re in for a long read):
Pretties For You – CD bought sometime in 1989 I believe the company it was released on went out of business. I saw a reissue from the mid seventies (it had the warner brothers palm trees label from that epoch) in a used record store but I don’t’ think I had the money at the time. Really need to seek this out on vinyl.
Easy Action – have it on vinyl with the original straight and Bizarre label. Paid 20 bucks for it maybe 20 years ago.
Love It To Death – this is really bizarre I only have it on cassette. I don’t know why I need to find it on vinyl but in the digital age I have access to all the songs so I guess I forgot to buy it. Speaking on vinyl the first pressing Alice’s thumb is peeking out of his cape that got edited out on all subsequent releases on vinyl and CD because the powers that be thought it looked too much like a penis. (The first pressing is pretty rare and I must find it on vinyl) interestingly enough the cassette version I have it isn’t edited out guess the powers that be didn’t find the cassette art work large enough to find it offensive.
Killer – taped version a friend of mine made for me years ago. And on CD. Here is another one I need to get on vinyl for those who do not know the back cover was colored in green, unlike the reissues that were in red, it opened up had the same back cover in red like the reissues, and a 1972 calendar with a picture of Alice being hung with beer in hand you can see in the photo the scar he has from getting his appendix out as a kid.
School’s Out- CD and Vinyl complete with opening desk original Warner’s dark green label. Oh and yes panties included!
Billion Dollar Babies – Deluxe edition with bonus cd of live from 1973 the cd is colored green like the original Warner Bros. label. Vinyl twice one with the Warner’s palm tree label with no big billion dollar bill does have the original record sleeve. 2nd vinyl original sleeve, green Warner label, sleeve and yes big billion dollar bill.
Muscle Of Love – Vinyl with box packaging original sleeve of the band going into a strip joint in Navy uniforms no book cover though. Vinyl is a white label promo.
Alice Cooper’s Greatest Hits – Cassette and vinyl with original sleeve label is the Warner’s palm tree label.
Welcome To My Nightmare – Cassette and Vinyl this one was originally released on Atlantic records. Original sleeve with lyrics.
Alice Cooper Goes To Hell – Cassette, and Vinyl the first Alice album- recording I bought. I remember buying this at the local thrift store, had to dig thru what seemed like 20K Bennie Goodman records to get to it I hand it to the cashier with the back cover showing to hide Alice’s big green face and sure enough she flips it over and I get one of the biggest OH’s I’ve ever herd. Palm tree label original sleeve with lyrics and Alice Cooper goes to hell a bed time story!
Lace And Whiskey – Cassette early 90’s reissue brief not from Alice on this thought on the record, vinyl original with original inner sleeve Palm tree label.
The Alice Cooper Show – CD, don’t have it on vinyl, though I should, for those who don’t the record comes out of the top end and not the side like most LPs.
From The Inside – Twice on Vinyl one bought and stolen from me in the fall of 1988 Original from the 70’s. Opening front like doors. Pop out door on the back side when you open you see Alice in the quiet room from the picture on the inner sleeve. On the back there are opening doors to the asylum that open and you see a picture from the inner sleeve of Alice and all of the other inmates running out having been release. Original inner sleeve with lyrics and pictures. Second Vinyl is a German import bought new very faithful to the original art work. Both with Warner’s white label which took over in the late 70’s. CD early 90’s reissue brief note from Alice on the album where he states it is one of his favorites.
Flush The Fashion – Twice on Vinyl both with the inner sleeve, white Warner label with lyrics. One is a cutout the other is not. Cassette bought used and never played well.
Special Forces – vinyl back cover or the LP had Look At You Over There Ripping The Sawdust From My Teddy Bear on the track listing. White Warner Label cut out. CD Swedish import I believe.
Zipper Catches Skin – twice on vinyl both cut outs one I bought from the “friend” that stole my From The Inside which is pretty beat up. I did see this once at a record fair and it was not a cut out (should have bought it.
Dada – Cassette bought on the same day I purchased Welcome To My Nightmare on cassette. I had to borrow money from my sister to buy it I who wanted me to return Nightmare to get it. Needless to say this did not happen. Found it in the cheap section/reduced price area it was out of print at the time.
*** interlude all of the vinyl from Lace and Whiskey thru Zipper were bought when the albums were out of print.
Constrictor – Cassette and Vinyl MCA label, cutout includes sheet inside with picture and album credits.
Raise Your Fist And Yell – vinyl, MCA includes sheet inside with picture and album credits.
Trash – Vinyl Epic label original sleeve with lyrics.
Hey Stoopid – Cassette
The Last Temptation – CD this came out the day the Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge did 7/12/94 which was the same day the MLB all star game was played in Pittsburgh. Bought it the second day after it was released.
Brutal Planet, Dragontown, The Eyes Of Alice Cooper, A Fist Full Of Alice – CD
Dirty Diamonds, Along Came A Spider, W2MN2 – don’t own these but in the digital – youtube age have access to them and am familiar with for the most part. Kinda sad though I’m a fan of having the physical product but have been too damn lazy the past couple years.
The Life And Crimes Of Alice Cooper – CD(s)
Singles: School’s out- Eighteen reissue
It’s Hot Tonight (w No More Love At Your Convenience – original Warner Bros palm tree label (probably the only label it was released under. Found this at an independent record store, there were more of them back then, for 99 cents in 1987. It had been sitting in the singles rack for almost 10 years waiting for me.
How You Gonna See Me now (w No Tricks) I bought this in a record convention around 1994. Paid ten bucks for it because I never heard of the song No Tricks before which features Betty Wright and was subsequently release on The Life And Crimes Of Alice Cooper. I immediately loved the song from the first listen.
Trash cassette single with a live version of The Ballad Of Dwight Fry.

^ You have me beat. By a lot! I used to have a lot of those albums, with the awesome covers, but these days everything is either CD or digital. I must say that Alice does have some of the most interesting album covers, and I do miss them. Thanks for writing all that up, it was a good trip down memory lane.

I did it from memory and it brought back a lot. I wasn’t sure if anyone would read the whole thing I didn’t think it would be quite that long as I wrote it. I too always loved Alice album covers especially with the original band when they had so many pop ups and trinkets inside. Same with From The Inside. And Welcome To My Nightmare although it doesn’t have trinkets the cover itself is one of the best ever.

I only have CDs and DVDs, nothing else (well, unless you count stuff I got from shows... "blood"-stained money with his face, balloons - yes, I still have the remains of a 5+ year old orange balloon plus the red one I got at the Vamps show, marbles, guitar picks, setlists, bracelets). No compilations because I'm not into that kind of thing. I'm into live stuff though. CDs Pretties for You + Easy Action + Love It to Death. As part of a bundle. Killer + School's Out + Billion Dollar Babies 3CD bundle. Muscle of Love Welcome to My Nightmare Goes to Hell Lace and Whiskey From the Inside Flush the Fashion Special Forces Zipper Catches Skin Dada Raise Your Fist and Yell Trash + Hey Stoopid + The Last Temptation 3CD bundle. For about the equivalent of $11. Brutal Planet + DragonTown 2CD bundle. The Eyes of Alice Cooper + Dirty Diamonds 2CD bundle. Each was about the equivalent of $7. Along Came a Spider. Welcome 2 My Nightmare. Got these with a 50% discount. I also have the Hollywood Vampires CD. Whose booklet Alice signed for me (and so did Joe and Tommy). --- DVDs Good To See You Again. About the equivalent of $6. Seriously, such a bargain. Trashes the World. This took forever to find and I have no idea why. Brutally Live. Live at Montreux. Two more that I got really cheap and are really good. Super Duper Alice Cooper Missing and really need to get: Theater of Death and Raise the Dead Live from Wacken. I also need a better way of keeping all this stuff in order, I've just made a mess to make this list... I'm a messy piggy!

Super Duper Alice Cooper Missing and really need to get: Theater of Death and Raise the Dead Live from Wacken. I have Trashes The World, Brutally Live and Prime Cuts on VHS. Anyone remember VHS tapes ?? just about 3 quaaludes and I remember them too!
I've seen Super Duper Alice Cooper and Good To See You Alice Cooper via the library but don't own them. I remember reading in an interview with Neal Smith he refers to the comedy in the latter as bad comedy. Also anyone notice the nod to it in the He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask Video)?
That said A Strange Case of Alice Cooper is high on my must by list. I remember reading about it on his website when it first was reissued, I think I posted something about it on the old board back then, and completely forgot about it until I jogged up old memories thinking about the Alice suff in my collection.
I too hate compilation things unless they are original best of's or greatist hits from back in the day.
Lastly I forgot to add to my list:
A Man Called Alice on vinyl released 1988ish I believe on Rhino. It incidenatlly has a picture on it from A Strange Case of Alice Cooper baby dolls in hand. It is a 2 album set on is Muscle Of Love and the other is Lace And Whiskey witch were both out of print at the time.

Not usually too big on greatest hits but I'd start with this Then move on to this.. Ballad Of Dwight Fry is my all time Cooper favorite Then move onto this. This is his first and best solo album. Classic.. I put it last cause I think you should get familiar with the original band first.

Always loved Alice Cooper. I'd say I have been lucky to see him probably 10 - 15 times over the years.. Always a great show. More of fan of the performer than the person these days. I have grown tired of listening to his narcissistic interviews lol. He seems to constantly talks about himself and how he did everything. Don't dislike him by any means.. Just tired. Either way, he is a fucking Legend! My Collection.. I don't have it all but it's decent CD collection Alice Cooper Live In Toronto 1969 - Not a huge fan of this.. Never listened to it much but it doesn't even sound like Alice Cooper to me. Love It To Death - Awesome Killer - good Billion Dollars Babies - real good Alice Cooper Band Greatest Hits - good Welcome To My Nightmare - Awesome The Alice Cooper Show - Awesome live album Lace and Whiskey - Lost the disc but think I listened to it once and didn't care for it at all Zipper Catches Skin - Weird.. More new wave than rock.. Don't care for it Trash - Had the cassette, never upgraded to CD. Bad 80's rock Dirty Diamonds - handful of good songs Welcome 2 my nightmare - couple good songs DVD/Blu Rays Good to see you again Alice Cooper - Live DVD/story. My absolute favorite Alice DVD! Original band Welcome to My Nightmare - Great live show. Solo band Alice Cooper Trashes the World.. Used to have the VHS Alice Cooper Prime Cuts - some cool footage Brutally Live Super Duper Alice Cooper I think that covers it.. Any must haves that aren't in my list?
