Riiight, licensing is a thing. I just didn't think about that because I don't come across it often when it comes to band t-shirts. It's more often things for kids with cartoon characters on them, guess there's more of a market for that.
Lidl had at one point a short term offer for an Aerosmith hoodie and t-shirt and I got them both. The shirt is surprisingly better fitted than most and just because of that I've worn it a lot, but the materials used are really shit, in the sense that they shed like there's no tomorrow, leaving fibers everywhere (to the point that even though I wouldn't buy stuff like that anymore, I've still looked to see if there aren't any filters that could prevent the fibers from getting into the pipes and clogging them when I wash stuff... I've taken apart the pipes under the sink to clean them when they got clogged more times than I care to remember). I'd keep on wearing the hoodie too because it keeps me warm, but with the way it sheds, you'd think I'm wearing an entire army of fluffy cats. My carpets are beige and as long as I wear that thing, I'm tormented by the black fibers. It's also really visible on the white bathroom sink. Crazy how just being there for a few minute brushing my teeth while wearing that hoodie can leave it covered in those black fibers.
Music stores aren't really a thing here, I don't know of a single one in Brașov. The only places where you might find CDs and DVDs here are bookstores and sometimes supermarkets, though those rarely carry the kind of music I listen to. Big bands like Aerosmith or Iron Maiden may find their way in there too, but definitely not the rare releases or limited editions. In Bucharest there are two music stores and I believe they do sell t-shirts too, but I never took a closer look. As for clothing stores... Zara may have band t-shirts, but I avoid them and all of their brands like the plague.
So I pretty much stick to what the bands sell directly and I haven't really had quality problems there. Though that stuff isn't normally cheap, which is why I tend to go for those over 50% get rid of stock discounts. But I've never seen the print fade on anything. A hoodie and a t-shirt have seen a cracked print, but that's after being worn and washed to death for years. Not to mention the hoodie had the somewhat cracked print style to begin with - it's a feature, not a bug!
I'm not convinced by the dryer thing. I rarely ever need anything dried fast, I can wait for stuff to air dry. Even on the rare occasions when I do need something fast, I can just hang it above the fire in the kitchen.

When bands post on social media photos from bars and then a few days later post that oops, we gotta cancel the next shows because covid, sorry, nothing we can do about it. Mhm. Right.
How about one out of these two: one, you could have drank those fucking beers or wine or whisky or whatever on your tour bus and avoided catching covid or two, since you only posted about catching covid and not about ending up in hospital with it, you could have sucked it up and done the shows anyway? There are people who make less in a month than you've spent in the damn bar on that one night who maybe blew their savings on traveling to see one of these shows and you cancel on the day it was supposed to happen or the day before?! Ffs.

When people take my work, made public under an attribution license, btw, and publish it on their website, not just without attribution, but without even the slightest suggestion that it's not theirs. Their website having ads, so they earn passive income from it. Bonus, when you check their terms and conditions, it says it's their intellectual property. Um, wut?
I was doing a search today and came across an instagram video recording of it which lead me to a page with... supposedly a tutorial teaching you how to code it.
But what they do is not my idea of a tutorial. They don't take the thing apart, they don't explain how to do it from scratch with illustrations and interactive demos.
They just paste the code. Which is heavily commented indeed, I spent an obscene amount of time explaining stuff in the comments.
Their Terms & Conditions page says this:
That they own the intellectual property rights. Mhm. Cool story.
They have other demos on their website. Some of them I'm pretty sure I've seen before, so I'm pretty sure they're stolen as well. Some of those from last year have the code up for sale.
So, yeah, this has been my evening so far...

Where’s the swear box because I will definitely drop the C bomb about this. Any way you can report them?
There's a narrow strip of no asphalt by the block. Some of us planted there a bunch of things that don't die in the poor quality soil. Somehow, the roses seem to do best. My fave is a dark red bush with even darker stripes. Wish I could show you a photo, which I was looking forward to taking today, as three flowers were opening. But someone cut all three of them. And yes, they were cut, you can see it clearly. I was so looking forward to seeing them open, first flowers of that bush in 2023 and... just like last autumn, someone took them to watch them die faster in a vase. Or maybe to sell them, who knows. At least seven flowers from the yellow bush were cut too.
Same happened with the peonies a month ago. Dark red peonies, was really looking forward to seeing them open. Someone took all of them before they could even open.
And what's worse, some of the flowers I bought and took to the cemetery got stolen too. Dahlias, so many dahlias. Peonies. Dad's mom was born on the 1st of June. I took peonies to the cemetery last year before what would have been her 95th birthday. And then didn't find them wilted in the vase on the next visit, they were just gone. The thought that someone took her birthday peonies before they even got to open... why are people so shitty?

People who pay for a spot in the properly set block parking, but are too fucking lazy to go park there and have to walk... a distance that's somewhere between 15m to 20m to the block entrance (the horror!)
They have to park as close to the block entrance as possible, on the street, making it hard to close to impossible for bigger vehicles to pass. I think that if their cars could fit through the damn block doors and if they could go up the stairs with them, they'd take them up into their damn bedrooms and roll out of their cars straight into bed.
And then when they try to leave and there happens to be a garbage truck on the street, they get pissed they cannot pass by because there's no room since others do the same and park on the street where they shouldn't. And still they refuse to see the connection between the two and get pissed when someone points it out.
Dude, I did not ask you to kill your first born inside a pentagram, I just fucking asked you not to leave your damn car on the damn street. Where it's not even legal to park...
And at least the garbage truck fits, even if barely. But a bigger fire truck... that might be a problem.

When people can't say "brown" instead of "cognac" to describe a pair of shoes or a coat. Look, most of us can't tell the difference, they're all browns...

Wifey Peeve Edition: No problem turning lights on when entering a room. Fails to grasp the concept of turning them off when leaving. Electric bills are fun.
Motion-activated bathroom lights. With no possibility of manual control.
They drove me batty at a hotel where I stayed a while back. A very nice place otherwise, but the bathroom lights would turn on every single time I'd be stepping anywhere near the bathroom door, even if most of the times I had zero intention of going in. And then they would get turned off while I was in the bathroom trying to carefully do my makeup... guess that wasn't enough motion.

The misuse of the term "Breaks their silence" that the media is currently obsessed with using, such as "Matthew Perry's former co-stars break their silence on his tragic death"
WTF? It's been less than a week, how is that 'breaking their silence'?? And this is just one example, I see this shit pretty much every day on random topic or another.
^Textbook sensationalist, attention-whoring headline. And it's a vicious circle. The more this happens, the more people get desensitised, and the more the media ups the sensationalism. I'm seeing it all the time too. Attention means time spent on page, time spent seeing ads (in theory, I've been blocking the crap out of everything since 2016) and that brings them money. It makes it hard, frustrating to try to produce normal news, and I mean stuff that's useful to know, but not "shocking, you won't believe this" - because then that doesn't get anywhere near the attention that an inflammatory headline does. And if it's hard to pay your bills out of quality, well-researched journalism while you see how others make a fortune pooping articles with outrageous headlines and little to no substance... then, well...

When people can't abstain from smoking in a non-smoking hotel room, trigger the fire alarm and get everyone evacuated at midnight in the rain until the firemen come and check what happened.
To the idiot who did that: hope you choke on a fucking cigarette!

My mom wasting my time to stress me out over things that are not my fault and I cannot do anything about.
Like calling me when I have work to do just to tell me about this segment she saw on TV on how animals died of heart attacks due to firecrackers and loud shit like that. Like, what do you want me to do? Do you want me to somehow magically bring back to life those puppies and kitties? Do you want me to somehow magically find who was responsible for these specific animals and shove their firecrackers up their asses? They'd deserve it, but maybe you'd have better luck going to the police, you know... wtf are they paid to do anyway when firecrackers are illegal before the 31st?
Or the whole end-of-the-world tone about how prices are going up from the 1st of January. Wtf do you want me to do about that, really? For context: the VAT for food and some other things was reduced to about half in Romania after the Ukraine invasion in order to limit the impact on people's pockets. From the start of 2024, that's getting reversed for high sugar (from 10g sugar/ 100g product) and "premium quality" foods, as well as for some other non-food stuff.

"Here's everything we know so far" articles, such as "Toby Keith dies of stomach cancer, here's everything we know so far"
What the hell else do we need to know about it? The size of his tumors? how much agony he was in? Which meds did he take? Fuck off, his name was Toby Keith, he's dead, and he died of stomach cancer, that's it, get on with your life before your turn comes.
