He’s Back!’ Brian Johnson’s Surprise Live Return Electrifies Reading Festival By Matthew Wilkening August 27, 2017 8:35 PM ultimateclassicrock.com/brian-johnson-returns-muse-reading/Almost exactly a year and half since what may have been his last show with AC/DC, Brian Johnson made a surprise return to one of the world’s largest stages by performing “Back in Black” alongside Muse at the Reading Festival. The hugely popular alternative rock band, which was closing out this year’s edition of one of the world’s most famous festivals, invited Johnson out to perform the title track of his first album as AC/DC’s singer with a simple “he’s back!” As you can see in the above video, the crowd went absolutely bonkers, singing along with the song’s famous guitar riff and cheering every one of Johnson’s moves and utterances. As the song came to its conclusion, a clearly thrilled Johnson declared, “That means a lot to me, thank you so much, thank you boys!” and gave a big, and possibly rib-crushing, bear hug to Muse singer Matt Bellamy. This is Johnson’s second surprise live appearance since doctors forced him to depart AC/DC’s chaotic Rock or Bust tour (check out the details below) in February 2016 out of fear that he could face total hearing loss. In May 2017, he sang the Motown classic “Money (That’s What I Want)” alongside Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers in Oxford, England. AC/DC eventually completed the tour with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose filling in on vocals, but have given no indication of their plans for future tours or new albums. Johnson, meanwhile, has been meeting with the inventors of a new type of in-ear monitor that could potentially allow him to return to his craft full time.

AC/DC Fans Angry Over Australia Postage Stamps ErrorMartin Kielty AC/DC fans reacted in anger after Australia Post apparently tripped up in an attempt to mark the band’s achievements with a set of collectible stamps. Noise11 reports that the service had used the North American version of High Voltage, which was made up of material from the band’s first two domestic titles, High Voltage and TNT. The U.S. version of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap was also used, along with an EP that was never released in Australia. “Australia Post, it is a remarkable fuck up to pick the wrong one, well two, well three covers and trade them out as Aussie stamps,” Noise11 stated. “Australia Post’s money grab of an Australia music heritage is bad, very bad. But who authorized this at the AC/DC end? It sounds like corporate greed at both ends.” Still, Noise11 noted the "good news for stamp collectors is once Australia Post notices how badly it fucked up here, it might withdrawn the faux-stamps. That will only increase the value to stamp collectors. Maybe Australia Post has just given a few AC/DC fans the collateral to buy a house.” Australia Post's description of the stamps hasn't been updated since the controversy. "It’s time for some rock ‘n' roll, as we release an AC/DC stamp pack, in honor of the band’s 45th anniversary," it reads. "AC/DC are Australian rock royalty and our most successful musical export. … This electrifying AC/DC stamp pack features 20 Map of Australia stamps from the Love the Celebrate stamp issue, together with cover images of the band’s most successful albums in the stamp tabs.”

38 years ago yesterday Back In Black was released. That is all. What an introduction to Brian that was. The vocals are amazing. The production is unreal. Sounds perfect!
