I liked this whole video, but I queued it up to a part about Rush. The premise of the video is they are starting a 'dad band' and the guitar player, a huge Rush fan, is trying to force the rest of the guys to only play original songs - that he wrote. The rest want to do covers.
"No chick is going to fuck you to a Rush song.....definitely not up the ass"

Great band! "Something always fires the light that gets in your eyes" Don't know how I missed this the first time around! This is my favorite Rush song. Great prime mover lyrics and some fantastic bass work from Geddy some of his very finest! I was very pleased to hear this live on the Time Machine tour.

I first saw Rush on the Hemispheres tour in '79, and in '82 my first band won first prize in a battle of the bands in a set list that included Spirit of Radio, Closer to the Heart as well as Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion, with a few Zep, Priest and Sabbath tunes (the high point of my career In RnR at 16 years old...it was all downhill from there lol!).
When my son was born the first songs he heard on the drive home from the hospital were from Geddy's My Favorite Headache solo album, and by the time Rush did The Time Machine Tour(Gefilter anyone?) Rush was his favorite band. Now he is 14 years old and a musician of incredibly high caliber on saxophone, piano and drums, excelling at them all and attending programs at the Eastman School of Music every summer as well.
i feel that Rush, and in particular Neil Peart are to thank.
It is so sad that this band will likely never tour again. Crushing.
Below a pic of my son watching his idols at Jones Beach 6/23/13. Alex came over and gave him a t-shirt towards the end of the show! He had been air drumming the tunes all night.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson Will Reunite at Rock Hall’s Rush Fan DayDave Lifton January 9, 2019 Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will make a rare joint public appearance in the wake of Rush's 2015 retirement, as they take part in Rush Fan Day on Jan. 19 at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The focus will be on Lee's recently published Big Beautiful Book of Bass, with a signing set for 1PM and an exhibit featuring basses from his collection. The event will then be rebroadcast throughout the month on SiriusXM channels Classic Rewind, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Radio and Volume; it will also be available on SiriusXM On Demand. Throughout the day, footage from Rush's 2013 induction will be shown at the museum's Forest City Theater. Tickets for the event cost $100 for members and $125 for non-members. Copies of Lee's book (which sells for $75) are included, in addition to access to all the events. They can be purchased at the Rock Hall's website beginning at 10AM Eastern tomorrow. There is a two-ticket maximum per person.
