Meaning siblings - I am the youngest of 7 children, with 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Sometimes being the youngest is a blessing, sometimes a curse as I'm sure some of you can testify to. One of my sisters passed away a few years ago from liver failure, and another sister is severely disabled since birth. She has never walked or talked, can't care for herself due to limited motor skills, and can't really communicate in any meaningful way. Anyway, there is a riddle that fits my situation: I have twice as many sisters as I do brothers, but my sister has the same number of brothers and sisters. Not that exciting when I already gave you the answer, but it has stumped many a people in my life.

All together there are 8. Rachel died in 1975. My idiot brother was born, the one that is more comfortable in jail, then out. Then there's me, my sister, my little brother, and the triplets who didn't make it. 4 alive, 4 gone.

Wait, 3 triplets all died? Was it at birth? Either way, that is horrible.

Mom had problems. They were carried to term but for some reason unclear to me (I was like 8 at the time) they died within hours of each other.

He (my idiot brother) just got out after a two year stint. He was out for a year before that after doing four years. Yet he says I'm a loser and "can go kill yourself" (his immature words exactly) because after what he pulled the last tine I told him he wasn't staying here. He's an asshole. We'll forgive each other down the line but right now he's due a punch in the throat.

Families are a hotbed of emotions for sure.
I just have one sister, two years younger. I am glad to say we get along better today than when growing up. She and her family live just a few minutes away and see each other about once a week.

I'm an only child. Within a year of getting married my parents had still born twin sons and for some reason Mum couldn't have any more children after that. They eventually put in to adopt and adopted a boy who was 2 at the time and very ill (his death certificate reads complications due to asthma), he was 5 when he died and I was about 2 (I was 3 weeks old when they adopted me) but I don't really remember him except through photo's. Mum said he was never well right from the start, chronic lung infections, pneumonia and asthma. By then they were considered too old to adopt any other children. When I was 5 they took on a foster son who I call my brother. He was the baby of 6 kids and his elder brothers teased and bullied him, that is why he ran away, he was 11 at the time. They actually get on quite well these days, but when he is here he usually stays with either Mum and Dad or me and just visits his other family as he calls them. He is the one who got me into Aerosmith and music in general, he is actually an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Mum and Dad actually consider him one of their children and offered him the hotel, but he was already off living in a hippy commune which is where he still lives to this day. My parents had a weird thing with names, the still born twins were Duane Edward and Duade Edward, both named after Duane Eddy the guitarist and Eddie Cochran, Dad's favourites at the time. When they decided to adopt and try for a boy and a girl they called us Zane and Zena.

1 sister, 5 yrs younger than me and 800 miles away. We have about nothing to do with each other. She abuses a lot of things and is very self absorbed. I choose my sisters. Lindadarlin being one of several.

Just me...so no sibling stories to tell. My mom had me and then got pregnant again about 2 years later. She lost my little brother at almost 6 months along. After that, she was advised to have no more children, This was back in the dark ages and medicine has advanced so much since then...who knows if this was later on things may have been different,

I grew up an only child, until my dad remarried when I was 17, and his wife had one 12 year old daughter that he knew of at the time. She moved in with us. After being married a few years, my dad found out his new bride also had a son and a daughter....both adults, and the eldest daughter had set up housekeeping with my dad's wife's ex-boyfriend, fathering two of his children.. I met my half-sister when I was 18. She came looking for my mom when my sister was 21. My mom was date-raped and in 1963 in a small town, it didn't matter HOW it happened, it was frowned upon and my sister was given up for adoption and raised by another family. Anyone need a scorecard?
