^At first I thought that had to be an early April Fool's joke, but it appears to be legit. A smart flush toilet, what could possibly go wrong? I did a Google search and came across this video from that company...
I find the allusions a bit pornographic. Dumb devices for dumb people. The Ferguson is still the way to go!

This is a big problem. NS is the national railway in the Netherlands. All trains are cancelled nationwide in a country with 17 million people. Edit: this was due to a software bug in the scheduling system. Source: their website - I like the "calamities" part in the URL. Very reassuring. Yup.

January 2023. A young woman kills herself. March 2023. A dubious twitter account using a photo stolen from her Facebook profile is spamming replies to advertise magic mushrooms. Reported. Feel free to place your bets on whether any action will be taken. I'm not optimistic. All these platforms, tw, fb, ig, yt... they're a scammer's heaven. The answer to "what happens to our online photos after we die?" question, I guess. They'll be used to scam people. On the internet, nobody knows you're a cat dog dead scammer. Update: by the end of March, the scam account was suspended. Pleasantly surprised.

Samsung's "Space Zoom" simply replaces people's shitty moon photos with AI-generated higher resolution images of the moon. It has nothing to do with new exceptional zoom lenses, it's just inserting something that wasn't there.
Samsung are not the only or the first to do this. Huawei have done the same with their "Moon Mode".

Amazon delivery driver wearing headphones mishears automated doorbell message and makes a complaint. Amazon cuts off customer's access to his account. This means all the stuff in his smart home not functioning anymore.

Getting so pissed off with Amazon lately, any return you want to do requires that you have a printer for the label. Not buying a printer just for that!

Getting so pissed off with Amazon lately, any return you want to do requires that you have a printer for the label. Not buying a printer just for that! In my area I just take the email QR code to Kohl's and they box the item up and ship it back for you. And then Kohl's gives you a 20% off coupon for anything you buy that day. It is a scam to get you to buy something, but not a bad deal for the consumer really.

It is a scam to get you to buy something, but not a bad deal for the consumer really. There's some delivery firms that do that here, and Amazon sometimes use them. But the last couple of times the only option has been one that involves printing a label at home, possible because said items contain batteries, am not sure. But they don't make that clear up front, especially as one of them was for a kindle trade in!

A lot of things improve over time because we learn more, we get better.
This is pretty generic statement - it applies to a lot of areas, programming being one of them.
Enter AI.
For shits and giggles, I decided to ask a chatbot a simple coding question. How can you do this very simple thing. Something I know damn well the answer to, so I can detect bullshit.
The answer left me all WTF, why in Beelzebub's name would you do that?! Until I checked the link it provided as a resource. Holy shit, that was one of my StackOverflow answers! From early 2012! When it may have been a reasonable solution because there weren't yet any better ones. But things have changed in the meanwhile, we now have much better ways of getting the same result, without any of the drawbacks that old hacky solution had.
So yeah.
