This is just sad. I get that Joey has really been struggling for the past couple years but Joe has had his own performance decline along with Steven. I think most of us on here understood this and could accept this due to the band members being in their 70’s now.
At the end of the day one of the things I admired most about the band was their ability to essentially stick together as a democratic unit for 50 years. I don’t see myself going to any more Aerosmith shows now ....

Well if all said is true then this is a major douche bag move by the band. Asking him to "audition" via a click track is a beyond shitty way to treat a guy and friend you've been working with for over 50 years. That said the stress of the situation having an effect on his comeback could be a little suspect to me if he or it is referring to his foot injuries. If it's in regard to the mental health issues, which are pretty well know by now, that's a much different story. Id like a little more info on that aspect of it. That said all and all Joey appears to be getting the shit end of the stick on this one. '

UPDATE: 9:48 AM PT -- Sources close to the band tell TMZ, Kramer has been given multiple opportunities to rejoin the group over the last several months, but always backed out. We're told Joey finally recorded a tape for Steven, Joe, Tom and Brad to hear earlier this month, but they didn't feel his drumming was up to par.
Our sources say it's no coincidence Joey filed the suit against the band now ... they're scheduled to play the Grammys, and Joey clearly wanted some TV time.
Even though there's conflict, we're told the group -- including Joey -- is a brotherhood, and the door is still open for him to rejoin in the coming months ... as long as his drumming skills return to full potential.
Joey's legal team made a request Monday to get a judge to allow him to rehearse with Aerosmith, but no final decision was made ... the case will be heard again Tuesday.

I’m at a loss of words. 50 years, brothers. This is what it has come to? Shame on Steven, Joe, Brad, and Tom. I’m ashamed to be a fan of this band.

ANOTHER UPDATE: 10:54 AM PT -- Joey tells TMZ, "Being prohibited from playing with a band that I have given 50 years of my life to supporting, is beyond devastating. This is not about money. I am being deprived of the opportunity to be recognized along with my peers, for our collective, lifetime contributions to the music industry. Neither the MusiCares’ Person of the Year Award nor the Grammys’ Lifetime Achievement honors can ever be repeated."
He continues, "I hope our fans can understand that all I’m trying to do is get back to playing with the band that they love – and that’s Aerosmith with all five original members. The greatest magic and success of Aerosmith happens when all the band’s founding members are together in the house."
Finally, Joey says, "To be removed from my rightful place on stage to celebrate our success – a success that acknowledges my own life’s work, is just plain wrong."

Oh shit! I hate these legal squabbles. You'd think if he wasn't up to scratch he'd still be part of the band and maybe just play on some songs especially with the Grammy performance and 50th anniversary. Very sad to hear

Is the rest of the band doing any better than Joey these days? I don't think so. There must be more to the story but if this is true, this is just messed up.

Wtf am I reading?! I hope this is just some staged drama to get some buzz.
Because I think it's totally understandable from the band's behalf to put Joey on hold until his playing is OK. And it's also OK for Joey to feel pushed aside but sueing? Come on! Aerosmith is a multi million dollar company, no one is allowing a member on stage unless he's capable. I know that drumming is hard but you can't expect the band playing 13 songs to accommodate joey's health status. I would be totally disappointed to see the band without Joey but in sure that he's gonna be back in time for the summer. Anyway I think he might sue for promoting the Vegas shows with his meet and greet and his name while he was absent and nothing was said about it. That was definitely worse. Grammys are in a few days, I bet he's gonna play and they're gonna hug in front of everyone to make a statement so the press will talk. I mean they have a good management for these kinds of things. I smell publicity stunt. I hope.

I gotta agree with Joey on this.
So he was invited back to play on several occasions and declined then sent them a tape and they say he wasn't up to snuff. Then why was he invited back in the first place until it was accurately determined where he was physically to begin with?

This is fishy it says he also needed a check at the hospital in November. Apparently he tried to get back before that date. Of course he wants to be there for the Grammys and the music person event. Those are unique moments he clearly needs to be there even if injured he could join the stage afterwards but if he says he can play of course that would be humiliating.
Anyway this was one of the last shows be played last year? Can someone confirm it?
Tbh this gig sounds off, they messed up during stop messing around and even edge sounded like shit. I don't know if it's because of Joey unable to keep up the tempo but that's not Aerosmith at its full potential.

And ANOTHER update: 12:09 PM PT -- Our Aerosmith sources say the group tried actively for months to get Joey back -- and would have loved to have had him join the Grammy performance -- but he just couldn't get it together in time and left the band with no other choice.
