Gosh this is killing me... I’m about to cry. This band has been a cornerstone in my life for 30 years.. now it seems that the whole thing is falling apart!

Somehow looks staged to me. If not, I hope those two guys are big enough to handle someone in Joey's current condition.

BTW I'm shocked by the speedy efficency of the justice system. I was recently sued for defamation by a stupid **** for a Google review after her office basically stole my money and my lame lawyer wanted to settle out of court while I wanted to go to trial but either way it took us a couple of months. Letters and stupid negotiations for a 2000€ lawsuit which was settled for 1200€. Italy sucks for these things.

It is sad but they are old. Joey has looked like he is about to keel over behind the kit for a few years now. They gave it an amazing run with the lineup but it is still Aerosmith to me without Joey. I appreciated his drumming in the 70's and early 80's but never cared for it from PUMP on. He came off as a complete cry baby in his book. I couldn't even finish it. He also came off as a douchebag at the pre-show meet and greet I attended that he did with Brad before one of the Boston shows.
If he can't play anymore, I would rather 80% Aerosmith than no Aerosmith. That is if you think he is equally as important as the other guys.. I would say he is more 10% Aerosmith.

Yes he comes across very much like how you described but I honestly think his style and creativity have been pivotal for Aerosmith. He came up with the name, laid down iconic and original beats and his tempo and style are just so good and unique. He's right on top of my drummer list with Bonham, Moon and Tucker. His drumming in PUMP, GAG and JPP is sublime. Of course the band doesn't sound as good as it did in 1997-2005 but it sounds better now than in the 2006-2010 phase and only a bit less powerful and tight than in the 2011-2017 period which was a live resurgence IMHO. I think they can pull through till 2023 for the 50th anniversary of the debut album and then call it a day. But I'm sure Joey is gonna be back.

At this point it’s not about who’s right or who’s wrong. The band members feel they have to keep their drummer from even being present during rehearsal? I am sure Steven is the driving force behind this and the other band members either went along so Steven doesn’t kick them out or maybe none of them want Joey there for whatever reason. I mean, it was a few years ago, they all almost voted Steven out of the band when he fell off the wagon.
If Joey can’t play that’s one thing, but to keep him away from his “brothers” in the band is just wrong. At least let him come in and be present! But to hire 2 goons to keep him out is beyond low. Shame on Aerosmith for doing this to Joey.

We don't know what happened backstage. Maybe they argued with the fill in and didn't want both of them in the same too. Maybe they were not sure he was clean after the rehab so they pushed him out. It looks like a low blow but we don't have all the details and he is the one who sued. In sure he's gonna be present and things are gonna calm down.

At this point Joey is 100% of the band. They are all each 100%. It’s about celebrating 50 years. Leaving as friends. No one who knows anything has said he has a drug issue. It’s not about playing wtw yet again. It’s about friendship.

He had an addiction problem (I assume from painkillers due to physiotherapy) and skipped rehearsals and left the rehab early.

There are so many things happening here that it is hard to keep up but here's my opinion:
The Grammy's have never shown any respect to Rock N' Roll.
If Aerosmith is receiving a LIFETIME achievement award then ALL 5 ORIGINAL MEMBERS should be onstage and "playing". No way will the songs be LIVE...prerecorded bullshit backing tracks for sure. Everything will be timed, camera angles will be preset, lighting and effects will be computerized and set onto auto-pilot. Guest performers will know there roles and play them like actors. Maybe Steven will have a live mic. You can't tell me that Joey couldn't dress up and play the part behind the kit for this type of event.
This isn't an award for Steven. OR Steven and Joe. It's an award for AEROSMITH. Fucking bullshit if Joey isn't with them at the Grammy's. And as far as rehearsals...Joey doesn't need rehearsals to play Walk This Way or Dream On. He can play those two songs in his sleep.
As far as Joey's status for the Vegas shows and the upcoming tour, that may be a different story and we clearly don't know all the details. I saw two of the Vegas shows and Steven is a real prick onstage to the band and the back up singers and players. I watched him absolutely BERATE Joey and Brad and back-up singers and backstage crew members from up close. It is not an attractive look for a lead singer to BITCH out his gang in front of a paying audience.
If Joey is truly out of the band, then Brad better watch out. He is probably next...

Lol what the hell are you saying? Grammys are live (remember Adele epic fails?) and Aerosmith never playback. Also this narrative that wants Steven to be the bad guy bitchin about everything is silly. I have seen him complaining on stage as well mostly to the mix guys for his in-ears and he can get pissed about sound things but it's only natural when your shows move millions you expect everything to be at its best and there's no room for unprofessionalism and lack of effort. I've never seen him being rude to the other members, on the contrary he's usually interacting with all of them to give the spotlight to each person in the band. He's a terrific lead singer I am not buying this narrative at all. And why Brad would be kicked out? He's the most reliable person in the band.

It's an award for their entire career. Whatever happened during the past year doesn't cancel 50 years he's been with the band.
