^^ I don't think the bouncers or the incident are staged . But Joey made damn sure TMZ had footage of him not being allowed in.

It's all so embarrassing when people know this is your band. People at work keep asking "Did you see where the drummer...". Just like a couple of weeks ago I was showing M&G pix and someone said "Is that when he fell off the stage?" No one remarks on the music, only all the drama.

There are so many things happening here that it is hard to keep up but here's my opinion: The Grammy's have never shown any respect to Rock N' Roll. If Aerosmith is receiving a LIFETIME achievement award then ALL 5 ORIGINAL MEMBERS should be onstage and "playing". No way will the songs be LIVE...prerecorded bullshit backing tracks for sure. Everything will be timed, camera angles will be preset, lighting and effects will be computerized and set onto auto-pilot. Guest performers will know there roles and play them like actors. Maybe Steven will have a live mic. You can't tell me that Joey couldn't dress up and play the part behind the kit for this type of event. This isn't an award for Steven. OR Steven and Joe. It's an award for AEROSMITH. Fucking bullshit if Joey isn't with them at the Grammy's. And as far as rehearsals...Joey doesn't need rehearsals to play Walk This Way or Dream On. He can play those two songs in his sleep. As far as Joey's status for the Vegas shows and the upcoming tour, that may be a different story and we clearly don't know all the details. I saw two of the Vegas shows and Steven is a real prick onstage to the band and the back up singers and players. I watched him absolutely BERATE Joey and Brad and back-up singers and backstage crew members from up close. It is not an attractive look for a lead singer to BITCH out his gang in front of a paying audience. If Joey is truly out of the band, then Brad better watch out. He is probably next... You are 100% right and nothing else matters. Joey is 100% Aerosmith. Joe 100%. Steven 100%. Tom 100% and Brad 100%. ONLY THESE 5 PEOPLE MATTER.

Guys chill out no one kicked out anyone and Joey was still invited at the award shows the issue is "just" the playing/rehearsal aspect.

This is what I'm saying - Joey knew the bouncers were there, he had TMZ (or someone) follow him while recording. He looks at the camera to make sure it was all caught...basically staged for the camera man.

As I think somebody else said, this drama may just be a ploy to “drum up” interest (no pun intended) in watching the Grammy show. We’ll all feel pretty silly if Joey ends up playing there. And ALL FIVE guys will be ROLMAO at us.

I mean, he is just suing the band and his case was already heard and decided? No one gets a court date that fast. Not even President Trump would get a court case heard that fast. And having 2 bouncers keep him out of practice? Not to mention no statement from Joey or the band on their social media? I am calling BS on all of this.

Going into Superior Court to seek relief from another party is not some ploy to drum up support. Rather it’s Joey’s way of trying to reclaim his spot behind the drum kit that he believes is his right to. Whether or not he is capable is immaterial, rather the nature of the suit, the cost of attorneys and the time in court is something to be taken seriously. According to the band, Joey, from the sounds of it, was not in any condition to play. He filed suit to counter that claim and the judge based off the evidence thought otherwise. Added with the talk of substance use disorder, talk of him being a no show and mental health issues further compounds the problem. Aerosmith is a product and it’s shareholders are the 5 guys. It says a lot when the balance of them all told Joey he was in no condition to play.

It seems odd that Joey was invited to attend as well as to play (if he rehearsed with them) but is acting like this was not the case. Joey is awesome and his style is influential for Aerosmith and the music they've made. Walk this Way and Lord of the Thighs have some amazing killer drums and I hope Joey gets to play on Sunday.

I think this all escalated with lack of direct communication between the members. I'm sure that if Joey were more present and the band more accommodating we wouldn't have this situation now. But a judge has spoken so now Joey must respect that and wait to be better. Maybe he's already fine but it was too late for him to prove so.

Best piece of info is that the band was recording in fall.

Glad he's behaving like an adult without further unnecessary drama. Reading the lawsuit I have to admit I agree with the band and judge decision but of course the way he was treated was pretty brutal. Still he should have been aware of his situation. I hope he can join rehearsals in spring and return to a decent form. I'd take him instead of a more precise fill in anyday, his style is still more recognizable and gritty but of course it's important to keep the tempo right otherwise every other member is in trouble. I'm wondering at this point if we are getting music recorded by Douglas. They had a similar issue during the recording of Nine Lives but they eventually re-recorded everything with Joey when he came back. I don't think they have the time and energy to pull that off now but it means he is going to learn new songs maybe? We'll see.

If this is all true, which it looks more likely that this is true, and not a publicity stunt, this is devastating to the band. Go look at Aerosmith’s social media...facebook especially, the band is getting barbecued and I am glad. You can’t tell me Joey can’t play WTW, Sweet E, or Dream On like he has the last 50 years. They could have had the backup drummer ready to fill in if he wasn’t up to snuff.
Bottom line is this should have never got this far. The whole thing with this 50 year anniversary tour is they are just about the only band out there with all five of their original members in the line up. Now, on the biggest stage, they don’t have the 5 original members. Without Joey, there’s no Aerosmith, they are just the Smith’s...and I don’t even want them sharing my last name so they are just Aero. LOL!
