I want to see how this one will work out, because I think Live Nation and TicketMaster are actually one company. Or one owns the other. Or they are both owned by one company. Or something. They are. They merged with Live Nation in 2010 because why compete, when together they can be more successful at screwing music fans over. In all honesty, what I've read on this thread about this presale makes my blood boil. Not blaming anyone who bought tickets, I get the point of view of the fan because I'm one too.

I couldn't understand the ticketing and buying process. It's a mess.

I don't know what your budget is but you can still get pit tickets if you purchase the Behind the Music VIP package. It gives you the option to choose either pit tickets or seats. With fees it's about $800.00. Yes, I know and I keep checking if it is still available... But that is slightly too much for me. Especially, that I might not even go to the M&G with the guys and wait to be the first one through the gate to the pit instead. And I have always been strongly against the whole institution of paying (THAT much) for (THAT little) time of somebody else... So I keep this option in mind, but it would be a very last resort.

Today they canceled all large gathering in Boston until Labor Day. There is still hope for this show! Who knows if it will happen but if it does, there will be some pent up energy in there. Even if they have to split the crowd into two shows!
I need to see a band soon...

It's hard to imagine this show happening. Short of the virus miraculously disappearing, or mutating into something less contagious, these bans on large gatherings will keep being extended. Holding onto a thread of hope, maybe they figure out some effective treatment in the next few months that can be easily mass produced, but that seems less likely by the day. I knew seeing Aerosmith on my 40th birthday was too good to be true...
Hopefully the band does something during this time other than sit idle and wait for it to pass. Maybe a set of streamed performances of full albums, rarities, acoustic shows, performances from closed sets in Lake Sunapee or the farmhouse where Steven wrote Seasons. There are a lot of streaming platforms competing and throwing money around, networks are low on content and people are stuck home. They used to be so innovative with unique marketing and promotional opportunities. They should be able to come up with something here.

They could still do the show to an empty or close to empty venue and televise it live on one of the local Boston Cable Channels and stream it online. That would actually be pretty cool if there is a show with no fans.

Too avant-garde, even for them

I can see them doing the show with something like 25%-50% capacity. That’s what’s being talked about for sports venues.

They would have to refund everyone and have a second sale.. I like my other idea of just adding a second show and having half of the ticket holders go to show one and the other half go to show two.

If it's not happening this year in the originally planned form, then I would say they reschedule. Perhaps they will say to keep the tickets or maybe refund, but they won't stream or play to 25% of the stadium. That's how I see it. And on a side note - I don't think it's sold out either. Still plenty to choose from, even as close to the stage as B2 or A5 (with M&G, but still)...

They are playing to an empty stadium at Fenway and streaming it.

Let's see how this will compare. And by the way - it's now less than 4 weeks until the first scheduled Aero show in Europe (Italy). Still no word...

I take it there'll be a charge for the stream. Fair enough but the price has to be realistic.
