This...is the magic of Aerosmith with Jack producing, recording LIVE all together www.facebook.com/aerosmith/videos/2761370957313992/This was a pet project for me. I spent countless hours asking fans to email Jack and let him know they wanted him to produce the band again...as it was initially Joe and Jack's idea and they had to convince the others (read Steven). I love the album but I preferred some of the mixes before Marti was brought i to mix it for the final version.

I watched it yesterday. Great vibes all over this video and it can be seen (felt? heard?) on the resulting album. HoB is fantastic and.... unpretentious. A real joy to listen to. It's different (obviously) and very fresh, too. Thanks for the effort! Jack definitely did a good job on that, you can be proud of yourself!

Great record for sure. I doubt Brad needed any convincing to do it.

We definitely need Honkin' on bobo part 2 ("Killing floor", "Broke down engine", "Louie,Louie","Roadhouse blues","Yer blues"). But without that fucking loud sound.

You're right, Brad did not need any convincing! The "loud" comes from Marti's mixing..the originals were not like that at all.

Even though it was a cover album it was a good one and very refreshing at the time. This is the only post PV album I like. This was a fun time to be an Aerosmith fan. It could have been great if mixed a bit better. It was too compressed.. They should have went for a warmer sound and recorded it in analog but still good overall.
The making the album documentary on the tour DVD that came out was amazing.
Baby Please Don't Go was a blistering addition to those sets too. Would love to see them bust that one out again.

Had the original recordings/mix come out I think more fans would have been pleased. Stripped down, all live, no overblown mix. But Steven overthought it (and certain label people) so in came Marti to save (NOT) the day! Still good but the original takes were better IMO.

speaking of the honkin on bobo ''the making of'' video, it was actually played in cinemas here in Poland , along the whole "you gotta move" DVD. Man, I never knew that a school bag could sneak in so much beer! good times, good times! and the same goes for that Japanese DVD, Rockin The Sun, I saw it on the big silver screen too - too bad the screening room was pretty empty, but at least we didn't get caught drinkin vodka that we sneaked in
