I feel compelled to return to this board in order to pay tribute to Carl Hampton. I was extremely sad to see Joe Perry and John B.'s announcement of the passing of Carl "Dr. J" Hampton this morning due to a battle with Lymphoma. As many of the old-timers from the AF1 Board days may know; Carl was a legend in the Aerosmith community. Many of you knew him or met him on the road, or in Las Vegas where he called home. I never had the fortune of meeting Carl in person but I felt like I knew him from years of interactions on the AF1 message boards. An example of Carl's kindness.. I had mentioned one time in a post that I loved seeing Aerosmith perform the only original version of 'Sick As a Dog' in San Jose, CA in 2002 when I saw them on that tour. Steven played guitar on the song just like they recorded it in the studio. Carl DM'd me and asked for my address. I didn't ask him why because I trusted him implicitly and knew he was up to something good. Sure enough, a couple of days later in my mail box arrived a DVD of that entire 2002 concert. That's the kind of person he was, and I'm terribly sad to see that he has been taken too soon. So if you are like me and your life is a little better because you knew Carl, please keep him and his family in your thoughts..

Wow, I am so sad to hear about this! I remember Carl from the old AF1 board. He had an AMAZING collection. A real class act. RIP

Loss of Carl another blow to old school blue army fandom. If this is dude in Cali, glad to see you around.

Carl was an absolute favorite from the old board. Always an opinion you wanted when he interjected it into the conversation. RIP Carl. I loved the white covered Rocks he had in his collection too btw. not sure why that popped into my head but it did.

Loss of Carl another blow to old school blue army fandom. If this is dude in Cali, glad to see you around. Hi Selly, thanks. Hope you are doing well. I think it would be appropriate to officially retire the 'Blue Army' name forever and posthumously appoint Carl as Eternal Commander of the Blue Army as he was the embodiment of Old School Aerosmith fandom. Nobody was respected more or universally appreciated by everybody. I just wish I would've been more proactive in meeting him in person when I went to Vegas to see the band circa 2003'ish. I was able to meet-up with several other AF1 board members but don't remember why he wasn't there but it's something I regret..
