I never thought I would be writing those words and be serious about it...She played at Chris Cornell’s tribute and people laughed at her and saying things like “Why the hell is she here.” By the end of the performance, she won everyone over...

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say I actually got her latest album, heavily rock and 80s inspired, from my sister for Christmas. There are some tunes on it that are actually pretty good. It's not QUITE as good as I initially thought... it comes off a little shallow and repetitive after awhile, but I think it's possible I may have simply over-listened. And regardless of it being my fault or Miley's, it's still in a good direction. If it has any influence on other young Top 40 musicians, that would be a very good thing. It's produced and co-written by Andrew Watt, who was the guitarist in California Breed for anyone who remembers them for a few years back (Glenn Hughes's short lived band with Jason Bonham after Black Country Communion). I met him when he was the opener for The Struts at a TINY club in Dallas about 5 years ago when they had just released a few songs over here for the first time. He was GREAT (as were The Struts). Glad to see he's making it big as a producer now.
