Glastonbury was a secret... they hadn’t been officially announced...
(Came here to post as I received an email from AXS, beaten to it!)

Last Thursday, it was decided in France that summer festivals would be limited to 5000 people, all seated, masked, socially distanced. No drinking or eating on festival grounds so there's no reason for them to ever remove masks.
That effectively made all big festivals (Hellfest announced they're postponing again immediately after) and shows (like Aerosmith in Paris) impossible. Also something related to Aerosmith I've seen in the French press: the US bands problem. French promoters are basically saying they won't be able to get bands from the US to come to France if these bands cannot play in Germany, Sweden, Belgium as well because it doesn't make economic sense for a band to come from across the ocean just to play one or two shows in France. This may be the case in 2022 as well, not just in 2021. And they're discussing this because a band like Aerosmith draws a lot of people, there are a lot of tickets sold, a lot of money to be made. Which they need following these pandemic times and won't make from the show of a small French band where you have maybe 100 people show up...
Also been told that in the Netherlands, shows may not return at all this year.

I just had the emails from our friends at Ticketmaster saying gigs are rescheduled for 2022. No mention of refunds. I'm keeping them anyway... 3rd time lucky

Well if it doesn't happen in 2022 we might as well all give up

Oh yeah, forgot about that. No singing either.
I follow some French musicians. It's been raining with memes and gifs making fun of how these events will work...

This absolutely makes perfect sense. They're old and this tour might actually never happen but it was just impossible to make it happen in 2021 with the vaccination in its early stages and new strings of the virus wrecking havoc across Europe.
I think 2021 and maybe early 2022 are gonna be all about small shows with distance, masks, no food and all seated with timed entrances and e-tickets.
It sucks but Japan proved it is possible to hold shows with these rules. But they're Japanese they are obedient, respectful and do not make a fuzz about something that's good for the community.
Let's hope for the best.. Maybe next summer we will all have enough antibodies to prevent new, big and uncontrollable waves of covid.

Fenway is still listed for this year although I doubt that will happen. I think everyone will want to keep the 'back to normal by the fall' dream alive as long as possible, but I just don't see social distancing ending anytime soon. Maybe by next summer they will be able to relax it a bit and spread out 20-25K people in football stadiums, but packing venues with people shoulder to shoulder probably isn't realistic anytime soon.

This is moronic. We had the Super Bowl party down here in Tampa with thousands of people together, no social distancing, no masks...or I should say, very few masks...and despite all the predictions of this being a super spreader event, cases are still going down. All for a cold you need to be tested to see if you have or not.
At this rate, Aerosmith will never tour again.

Considering their age, it would be disastrous if any of them got it. Tom especially. I'd much rather wait for a tour than have one of them dead.

If there was going to be a spike, you would have already seen signs of it.
