Happy Birthday Steven Tyler
One out of two that I have never heard of...
He was an athlete as a child Although at first glance Tyler may not look much like an athlete, his on-stage acrobatics stem from a secret past as one. When he was in high school, he was part of the institution’s junior trampoline Olympic team. He even claims he could do 26 consecutive backflips, saying: “I had been on the junior Olympic team in high school for trampoline; I could do twenty-six back flips in a row.”

When was the last time any of us saw him do a backflip onstage?
I can't recall any specific incidence since the Pump tour. Hell, I was impressed that he was managing it then!

Saw him do 1 or 2 on the GAG tour. Although they may have been front flips. At 73 I think we can give him a pass on doing them.

Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has posted a new photo on his official and verified Instagram account today and celebrated Steven Tyler’s birthday while sharing one of the most unforgettable photos of the two legends.
Aerosmith frontman has born in Manhattan, New York in 1948 and he’s considered as one of the most famous on-stage acrobats of all time. Today, Aerosmith star celebrates his 73rd birthday and Nikki Sixx was one of the stars who did not forget the legendary star’s birthday. While sharing their rare photo, Mötley Crüe bassist also tagged the photographer of the frame who is also the photographer of Aerosmith, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Queen & many more, Ron Pownall. One of the users who liked the post was the official Instagram account of Motor Sister. Here is what he said: “Happy birthday to one of my all-time favorite rock n roll hero’s… Steven Tyler, photo by Ron Pownall. #1975.” And here is how Ron Pownall celebrated Steven’s birthday: “Today is Steven Tyler’s Birthday. Happy Birthday, Steven! I first met Aerosmith in 1973 at the Roberts Center at Boston College. It was a-rockin’ gig in the gym for a campus Fall Festival of some sort. (If I’m not mistaken, the band canceled a gig opening for Mott The Hoople in NY so that they could headline at BC… I’d love verification on that). Hey, a few bucks is a few bucks, right! These pix are from a CREEMmag series, “Stars Cars,” in 1975. We shot around Jamaica Pond, on the edge of Boston. Everybody in the band had these fancy Porsches, ‘Vettes, “Z’s,” but Steven had a barely-running 1956 Mercedes 220 Convertible. In fact, it died at the end of the shoot, and we had to have it towed; despite Steve’s insistence, we could figure it out because he had the owner’s manual! But, as always, we had a fun shoot.”

Pretty sure I recall coming across mid 90s footage of him doing a front flip during a show on YouTube. He took his hands off very fast and frog jumped out, but heck, he was almost 50 at that point!

After his knee surgery in 1998 I never thought I'd see him attempt a front clip again but at the Tinley Park 9/1/02 show during Walk this Way with RUN D.M.C & Kid Rock, in the moment, he actually did a front flip. Not sure I've seen him do one since though.
