It seems many here don't care for Bright Light Fright, but for me it is easily the best song that Joe sang on. Second goes to Back Back Train, and then Oasis In The Night, which really suits his current voice I think.
So, lets get some numbers!
Hopefully I got them all...

And for the record, I'm skeptical that Combination should even be on the poll, but it is widely regarded as a Joe song, so, there it is.

For me, I think Joe sounds his best singing Red House with Stop Messin in a close second for me. Red House really fits Joes bluesy voice. It is a shame they do not do Red House that often.

^ To me, I hear Steven when I listen to the studio version of Combination, and live, Joe's voice doesn't work for me on this great song.
The bluesy songs seem to fit his voice, so I vote for Stop Messing around. Might be Brad's solo on the Bobo version that pushes this song over Red House.

This is actually pretty great. It would be cool if this replaced Combination this summer for a change. It would have been sick with Mindi Abair on sax.

^ Such a kick ass song. I'd vote for it twice if I could. ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/5784781/images/mpxQMRkaqNHorOGIVVYq.gif)

I picked Stop Messin Round even though I am sick of seeing it every show. I would have picked Red House but didn't since it was never officially recorded.. Combination is probably my favorite up there but I don't even consider it a Joe sung song.

My favorite out of the bunch is Back, Back Train.

You left out Something. Which I wouldn't have voted for anyway.
Pretty tough choice, to be honest. I like most of the songs he sings, and while I think Combination is definitely the best song and I was really happy to see getting a place in the setlist, I'd say Stop Messin' Around worked better for him live.
The Bright Light Fright version above is great - too bad this song almost never gets played, it's one of my favourites from Draw the Line. Well, too bad they don't have much variation here either - did Walk on Down, Falling Off, Drop Dead Gorgeous or Back Back Train ever make a setlist after the tour to promote the album they were on was done? They kept talking about getting Freedom Fighter in the setlist and I thought I'd love to see them give that one a try. Such a pity it never happened.

I definitely think Bright Light Fright is the best song where he sings lead vocals. His voice actually sounds pretty decent on this one, and this song has incredible energy.
Combination, I've always considered to be more of a Tyler/Perry duet at best, but more of a Tyler song with prominent Perry backup vocals.
For all the flack it gets, I actually like Walk on Down. Not Joe's best vocal performance, but musically, I really enjoy it.
Back, Back Train is really cool.
Stop Messin' Around is such a Joe staple. But it's just alright.
Drop Dead Gorgeous is kind of interesting, but not my favorite.

I'm with you Sean. I really like all the Joe songs. He doesn't have Steven's range, but imo he's great on every son he sings.

Definitely Red House...is my number one. South Station Blues is next. Seen him do it live at Foxwoods when he played with TAB...

I really like the guitar in Something but not so much the lyrics or vocals.

Count me in with those who don't feel "Combination" is a Joe song. Steven's way high in the mix on Rocks and I for one prefer it that way.
Back Back Train seems to fit Joe's voice very well.
