Found this; Joe Perry‘s pretty excited about Aerosmith going on tour with Slash, and he’s got the spray paint to prove it.
As recently recounted via Aerosmith’s Twitter account, Perry took to the streets of Los Angeles with the graffiti artist known as RISK to help spread the word for the band’s upcoming dates, dubbed the ‘Let Rock Rule’ tour. As we previously reported, the tourmates broke the news through their Twitter accounts in late-March, and although we still don’t have dates, it looks like we can count on some sort of announcement April 8.
The April 8 date shows up in this photo of the finished artwork, while you can see Perry and RISK at work in this photo and the video embedded at the top of this post. In a separate video, the band adds, “It’s official! We’re going out on the road this summer with Slash!” and offers a few words from Perry.
“Hey, everybody. This is Joe Perry,” begins the clip. “A couple of days ago I tweeted that we were going out on the road this summer with Slash, and now it’s absolutely official. Tickets will be going on sale real soon. The name of the tour is ‘Let Rock Rule,’ and you’re gonna be hearing a little more of that coming up real soon. See you then.”

Metallica also lists Aero as an influence. How bout they could open for a couple hours or share equal billling. Do James and Steven talk? The problem with this is that Metallica and Aerosmith are just too different. Metallica is way heavier than Aerosmith, even on Aerosmith's heaviest songs. The genres are just too different.

Metallica shows have 10 times more energy than Aerosmith shows. Can't see ho wthat would work unless Aerosmith went on first.

I agree as well with the Aero Metallica combination too big a difference in styles. Plus too short of unsatisfying co-headlining set lists.

As far as I know they've never toured before, nor had there ever been any talk of it. I agree about they style difference plus the difference in the fans also, meaning those that attend the shows. I think some of the Aerosmith concert goers would be in For a bit of a culture shock going to a Metallica show, meaning a show such as the Big 4 show from a few years back. And I'm not talking diehard Aero fans, I mean the casual fans that seem to dominate the shows now.

Hmmmm...that might be far enough in advance that I might be able to talk Jason into that one. We're on a spending freeze after two vacations and a PS4, plus GNR Tickets. He about popped a forehead vessel at Aerosmith tickets. Not because he doesn't enjoy them, I've converted him, but they cost waaaayyyy too much. Considering we spent 80 bucks a pop on Guns tickets.

GNR opened for Metallica during their '92 tour (Lars wanted them) That's the tour where James got torched in Montreal. Wishful thinking and not probable, but anything is possible (I think that was my intent)It's been so long since I typed Axl I spelled it like Axel grease, but I see some other fans do it as well. MY BAD

Wishful thinking here but I purposed double billing and I'd have no problem with Aero going first : p Metallica in their own words called GNR their opener on that tour (just heard it).
