So went and saw Skynyrd last night. Left a very happy man. The ticket was Skynyrd and a band called Six Gun Sally. They were all right. Bo Bice from American Idol was with them. meh.
After they finished their set though, unexpectedly (to me at least) Don Felder from the Eagles comes out and does a 7 to 10 song setlist consisting mainly of Eagles hits such as Life in the Fast Lane, Tequila Sunrise, Witchy Woman, The Long Run, Take It Easy and Hotel California. My jaw was on the floor. Was not expecting to get Hotel California and Free Bird in the same concert.
Skynyrd came out around 9:30-10 and did a fantastic set consisting of all the songs you'd expect. They had great energy and the PP&L Center crowd really had a great time. I don't know enough about the current line-up to tell you who is OG and who is new as I was always partial Skynyrd fan (my dad loved them). During the encore of Free Bird for the second verse Johnny leaves the stage and leaves Ronny's hat on his mic stand mid stage and then Ronny comes on the big screen and leads the audience in the final verse of Free Bird before the incredible ending solo.
Anyway, great evening.
