These have been floating around on the interweb for years but Guns n' Roses just officially released them as part of the Use Your Illusions II (Deluxe Edition) re-issue last week.

I have never heard Train before but the Mama Kin clip has been around for years. Tyler screws up singing too soon at one point. Then there's the video where Jeff Beck apparently got ear damage from Matt Sorum's drums.

There is probably video of these performances on youtube as well. They were from a Pay Preview show Guns did in Paris.

Cool. About GnR's version of Mama Kin, I don't know if it has been corrected since but my old copy of the album had it stated that all songs were written by Guns N Roses. Always wondered why Steven let him get away with taking cred for writing Mama Kin. I'm sure by 2022 it has been corrected.

I bought Live Like A Suicide in '86, and it correctly credited both Tyler and Rose Tattoo for their songs.

Do you still have it?

I dug out my copy and checked and sure enough it says All Songs Written, Arranged & Performed by Guns N' Roses. Produced & Engineered by Mike Clink then goes on to name the band members and their instruments. I checked the other side of it which has the Live Like a Suicide '86 cover and back and neither of those mention Steven either. Then again, the album is called GnR Lies so maybe that's the lie

Nope. Bought it for $12, solely on a Kerrang review, and the record store owner's claim that it sounded like a cross between Aerosmith and Hanoi Rocks. Sold it for $200 in 1990. Wish I hadn't, but needed cash more than records at that time. Plus, vinyl was crashing, and CD's were the preferred format by then.
Sold a ton of records that are worth a small fortune now, including the first pressing Metal Massacre compilation, with Metallica's first appearance on vinyl. Makes me sad to think about it when I see the money some of those records fetch now

Either way, still pretty cool that you had them. Especially since you just went off a Kerrang review. Ahh the good old days.

Kerrang was a godsend in those days! Pre-internet, it was an incredible resource. Introduced me to so many bands, whose discs I'd then order from Shades ads in the back, with postal money orders. They'd take forever to get here, but it was always so exciting when that package finally arrived. Good ol' days indeed.
I gave up on it in 1990. At that point, it was all about Flipside. That magazine introduced a ton of new bands too.
Now, with my shitty old eyes, I can't read anything that I can't expand with two fingers. 😄
