Can't say that I've ever heard a Pink Floyd pop song...what station do they play on your planet? wish you were here it's the most basic and boring pop ballad ever. They're absolutely overrated imho. Not rock, not psychedelic, not shoegaze, not electronic, not even melodic. Idk just a mellow boring mess. Apparently too deep for you to grasp. Try studying their lyrical content and then come talk to me.

I don't care much about lyrics after studying Italian, English and French literature I hardly find interesting lyrics in music.
I am sure my dad will slap me on your behalf as well 😂 Sorry, I just don't like them, so boring.

Not rock, not psychedelic, not shoegaze, not electronic, not even melodic. And yet a single Pink Floyd song like One Of These Days contains ALL those elements. Pink Floyd is akin to Aerosmith in that their early and later material are very different beasts. You picked probably the single track I actually like. Meddle is, I think, their only decent album. The fact is, their mixing and mastering have always been great and they have been loved by audiophiles and music enthusiasts ever since, but the music itself, in my opinion, was generic, boring, pretentious and often noisy. Especially in the early albums. Having 1-2 extended jams that make no sense and a string of basic pop songs in between is really not how you executive produce a great album or piece of music for my taste. I sure as hell missed those druggy days that marked a generation so I can't say what my reaction would have been in those days but I am sure I would have been a The Who, Deep Purple, The Doors, The Stooges or The Velvet Underground type of person. And if you like that choir of kids on Another Brick in The Wall you are lying. That's an instant skip.

I'm not going to argue with you because we all like what we like, but for a heavily sedated high school rebel at the time of The Wall's release, hell yeah I like the choir of school kids defiantly telling the teachers they've had enough of their crap. Listening to The Wall front to back is a submersive experience that you maybe had to be there to fully appreciate.

This guy has some choice words on the topic. I especially like the way he sums it up: Put your faith in the art, not the artist. Kinda reminds me of some other band that I like...hmm
