Taylor Swift performed 44 songs in 3 hours and 13 minutes. Impressive…

That's a shame. I feel bad for any guys that went along reluctantly and got stuck listening to that for over 3 hours.

She might not be your thing and I get it….but she is an incredible performer and entertainer. Even in their prime, Aerosmith barely did 2 hour sets and 20 songs…maybe 23-24 songs at max.

I used to like her country-pop music, her first two records are simple and sappy but captured the spirit of youth so well and were packed with well written songs. I thought she was a fresh debutant but then she tried so hard to be a global pop superstar working with the same producers of Britney and Katy..., namely Max Martin with terrible results such as that horrible song Trouble. She had success but musically I think she went south for quite a few years between Red, 1989 and Reputation. Her last 2-3 records are definitely a step into the good direction although they're all quite long and boring they're definitely classier and well produced.
She's finding her sound as she steadily puts out music but her feminist psychosis and hate for men is really sick and off-putting. Can't stand her double standards in songs such as Mastermind where she clearly describes herself as a manipulative sociopath or straight misandric lyrics from Labyrinth or any other song where she plays the victim and describes everyone else (only men) as bullies, assholes, thieves or rapists.
Also her live skills are lackluster at best, she can't really sing well, she doesn't dance and she is overshadowed by her productions as she lacks charisma. Yet, I think she has a charming, artistic vision that with the help of her smart team is cementing herself as a timeless icon. I just don't vibe with her fixation on victimhood but that's the trend right now and she's been playing this card for so long it's getting offensive, especially when she's a renowned bully and privileged millionaire.
Also I saw a video where she supposedly dives into a water tank but other artists used water effects in a better way, I am thinking of Kylie Minogue or Koda Kumi who opened a couple of her tours coming out of a transparent water tank. Water is often used in Japanese live productions. But as longs as they're bringing big productions back on tour I am happy, I think after the 2008 crisis and popularity of vegas residencies, pop concerts have been getting cheaper and cheaper in their production value but tickets have been getting so much more expensive.

This is the water tank scene. Pretty bad ass.

My Taylor concert is on Thursday. 80% chance of thunderstorms. Hopefully the weather changes before then. My dog hates thunderstorms and I am more worried about him being alone then the concert being effected. We haven’t had any rain in almost a month but on the concert day it rains…imagine that.

That's a shame. I feel bad for any guys that went along reluctantly and got stuck listening to that for over 3 hours. My take on this: if they don't have the spine to say they don't want to go, they deserve it. Like they deserve the hole in the budget because wtf, I don't think tickets were cheap and how stupid can one be to waste that kind of money? Also, these days, it's easy to find out in advance how much a show is going to last, so if anyone went thinking, eh, no big deal, it would be a short show, well, sorry, dumbo... Here's the thing: she's not my cup of tea, I don't care for her. But a lot of people seem to like her music. That doesn't make her music good from an objective point of view, but at the end of the day, the purpose of music, of any art in general, even if bad art, is to do something for someone. So her music has served its purpose, regardless of what I, or anyone else thinks about it. And pillis, from an outside perspective, what you wrote is mostly about your personal biases and has very little to do with her music. Chill, none of songs she wrote and none of the interviews she gave are about you.

It's not about me but she is affecting our culture as she is very much influential, and the message she's putting out is toxic and wrong and full of silly stereotypical double standards that can negatively impact young people. That has nothing to do with the quality of her product as she is given the best producers in the game and I actually started to like her music more after she ditched the edgy pop stuff as it was clearly not resonating with her image and personality in my opinion. But it's not just HER, it's our culture that is becoming very polarized, hateful and puritanical to the point of bigotry with the only aim to divide people into tribes and put them against each other. She's prey of this game, maybe she saw a psychotherapist...they tend to do the most damage.

She's prey of this game, maybe she saw a psychotherapist...they tend to do the most damage. Gee, have you looked into the mirror? Because based on your post history, putting out messages that are "toxic and wrong and full of silly stereotypical double standards that can negatively impact young people" is pretty good description for... you. You keep blabbing on about very "polarized, hateful and puritanical culture", "bigotry" and "tribes", while you're probably the most tribal person on this forum. Seriously, your posts make it sound that every time you set foot on the street, there are hordes of women yelling after you "look, a man, wouldn't it be fun to cut off his cock?" "nah, know what would be more fun? pour acid over it!" "and then chop him into pieces!" "nah, drown him!" "then set the body on fire!" Chill, no normal person wants to castrate or murder you just because you were born a dude. I would just fucking like to see less shitty attitudes like yours. Because it's shitty attitudes like yours that make it normal for me to be unable to go to the supermarket wearing a fitted black jacket and black trousers without dudes meowing at me like cats in heat. I suppose a Catwoman reference, but in those moments you just want to get the fuck away, be left the fuck alone, not ask for clarifications. It's shitty attitudes like yours why even I, who don't follow what Taylor Swift is doing at all and couldn't name more than one of her songs... even I know she's regularly called a whore, slut and the entire register, that there are countless jokes about her number of ex-boyfriends. Now how often have you heard Gene Simmons, who bragged about fucking three thousand women, being called a slut? It's shitty attitudes like yours that make idiots think it's normal to yell "suck my cock" out of the blue after women on the street. I've heard that yelled after me more times than my number of CodePen demos. And that must be a pretty damn high number, considering I've been posting there for over a decade and I'm an idiot who sometimes wakes up at 3-4am with an idea and just has to code it. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make idiots think it's normal to sneak up from behind on women on the street and try to slide a hand in between their legs or to grab their breasts. To think it's normal to start unzipping when they're alone with a woman in an elevator or in a room. To think it's normal to try to undress them on the street because they're not showing enough skin. Yes, all of these have happened to me on multiple occasions. It's shitty attitudes like yours why I'd never ask for help in such situations. Because it's me who would get called names anyway. Sorry, I'd rather study the anatomy of the neck and carry something sharp with me, just in case I need to section an asshole's carotid artery to save my life. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make choosing between wearing a band hoodie or not a choice between getting harassed on the street for my music preferences (good news for me, most guys seem to be repulsed by rockers) or for being a woman. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make it normal to tell girls that they must have done something to provoke, it must have been something about the way the looked when they've been catcalled. So that said girls later end up in the emergency room after they've slashed their faces with a knife and tried to chop off their breasts just so they're not provocative anymore and they can be finally left alone. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make it normal for the police to tell parents who report their 12 year old daughter missing that eh, no big deal, her pussy must be itching, she probably ran away with some vagabond. Oh, yeah, in case you're wondering what happened to this girl... A couple of summers ago, a 12 year old girl (another one) called 112 (the emergency number here, like 911 in the US) to ask for help because she had been kidnapped and raped. She was in the house where the man had taken her, he had gone outside for a little while, so she rushed to his phone, found out the address and called 112 to ask them to save her. But due to shitty attitudes like yours, the people who answer the call found it normal not to immediately send a police car there, but instead mock her with stuff like "yeah, yeah, he raped you, but you also must have enjoyed it, right?" while she kept begging on the phone. Which made the phone call drag out and she was caught. And killed, chopped into pieces which were then burned in a metallic barrel in the backyard. The police eventually came after a man living nearby reported something suspicious. They found the charred remains in the backyard and what do you know, they weren't just from this girl... there were also the remains of the girl whose parents had reported missing just a couple of weeks earlier. Investigating further, which only happened because a distant uncle of the girl who mad the 112 call happened to be a local politician and he saw being a defender of justice being good campaign material just a couple of months before elections, it turned out the man had killed over a dozen girls. But yeah, pretty much everyone, the only notable exception being his son, who called him a piece of shit, said who could have believed that, he seemed like a great guy. Who just had a habit of kidnapping, raping and killing young girls. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make it normal for medical personnel to yell shit like "stfu, didn't you think it would hurt know while you were enjoying fucking?" to women in pain when they giv birth. It's shitty attitudes like yours why a young 14 year old girl who records a priest making her sexual advances during confession and goes to the police with the recording gets called a slut and told how could she do that to a man of God. It's shitty attitudes like yours that make domestic violence a normal thing. It's estimated that in rural areas, about 80% of women get regularly beaten by their husbands if the dudes get drunk, or they don't like something about the food or sex they got served that day. It's shitty attitudes like yours why I personally don't know a single woman who hasn't been sexually harassed on the street. Because it's somehow normal to think it's something we ask for, it's a fucking compliment when someone I would never even notice I've passed by otherwise yells vile things after me on the street to let me know about all the ways he'd fuck me in. I'd just like a fucking break from all of that, pillis. You can keep your cock.

And yes, young boys are being circumcised on a daily basis even in highly liberal and democratic countries, mutilating their bodies without their consent. And feminism is a great problem because it promotes misandry and gender stereotypes which is something shared with other cults of extremists. Either way, you clearly need psychiatric help so I will not reply anymore and I wish you health and happiness.

I hate liberals who pander to minorities like we are some kind of brainless cult who worship anyone who blabs about LGBTQIA+, feminism and stuff. These identity politics are turning people into zombies, charged with hatred and a sense of hyper morality. Also I preferred Trump's politics from an outsider perspective, can't say as an American citizen who I would have preferred. Trump's biggest issue is his enormous business that gives him too many conflicts of interests to be a fair president. Anyway enjoy the concert, Taylor's last 2-3 records are all well put together and I'm sure the setlist will please the concert goers, my comment was not necessarily aimed at her songs which, in fact, I quite like myself.

Either way, you clearly need psychiatric help so I will not reply anymore and I wish you health and happiness. And now you're going "I don't hear you" and shoving your fingers in your ears because you have zero arguments. I'm not the one who is hateful, nor the one who needs psychiatric help. Funny enough, in your previous post, you said this about Taylor: "maybe she saw a psychotherapist...they tend to do the most damage". I'm also not the one who brought up the topic of feminism, you're the one who keeps bringing it up on topic after topic. You seem to be thinking about it a lot more than me. I'd just like to live the one damn life that I have without worrying about being groped yet again on the way to the supermarket. But have fun keeping on telling yourself that's such a ridiculous demand and that I'm hateful.

I, who don't follow what Taylor Swift is doing at all and couldn't name more than one of her songs... I'm sort of in the same boat. I know I've heard more of her songs, but didn't really care for or remember any of them. From that perspective, I don't see how you can have such negative reaction to the quote you attacked pillis for. He claims to be familiar with her music, which I can't vouch for, but I'm not following what you quoted justifying such a string of personal attacks. It's not about me but she is affecting our culture as she is very much influential, and the message she's putting out is toxic and wrong and full of silly stereotypical double standards that can negatively impact young people. But it's not just HER, it's our culture that is becoming very polarized, hateful and puritanical to the point of bigotry with the only aim to divide people into tribes and put them against each other. She's prey of this game, maybe she saw a psychotherapist...they tend to do the most damage. That sounds like a fair take to me. I've read and seen clips of her coming across as preachy claiming morally superiority to those who don't see the world exactly as she does. Most acts/artists leave that shit at the door and bring people together at their shows. Again, I can't vouch to the extent that Taylor Swift does this, but pillis is certainly not the first person I've seen criticize her for being divisive.
