Maybe We All Fall Down gets the single treatment around this record. It really makes no sense being there otherwise. Given Tyler's recent troubles, perhaps a forgiveness/redemption song was his push.
Regardless, a collection of over abused 'radio edit' tracks will certainly not reduce my dollar count. Snoozefest.

The problem I believe lies in the fact that we were promised YEARS ago a definitive box set, a Pandora's Box II if you mind. In that time we have gotten one live album or rarities and this bs greatest hits comp money grab. Yeah Coop, you're right that it's a greatest hits comp and it has their greatest hits listed. But it also ignored entire albums and eras. It's a blatant money grab of something that could be in the 5 dollar bin at Target after the cash grab that was the tour launch. Some of us are still in our bitters I suppose.

I don't get the complaining about the tracks, this is one of the best GREATEST HITS collections I have seen featuring (mostly) studio and live cuts. I'd personally much rather see more re-mixes and outtakes, but for a GREATEST HITS compilation how can you complain about this? Out of all the songs, I only had to delete a small handful of bad choices. And to be even more fair, WAFD was never a hit, but neither was Lord of The Thighs, Combination, Nobody's Fault, Adam's Apple, Bright Light Fright, or S.O.S., so I can overlook it for the tradeoff. If I were to pick the best songs off each album, my picks wouldn't look too much different from what they picked, at least on the first generation material. As for the 2nd gen stuff, ah, they didn't do too bad. Happy to see Nine Lives made the cut. And love it or hate it, it would just be stupid to leave IDWTMAT off this collection.
MAMA KIN DREAM ON LORD OF THE THIGHS SAME OLD SONG AND DANCE [SINGLE VERSION] TRAIN KEPT A-ROLLIN' S.O.S. Yes, it is the best greatest hits collection they've put together, though I don't like the single edits and hate the inclusion of WAFD (which I'm afraid they are going to market as a single). I get why they are putting this out - an easy cash grab to promote the farewell tour, though I don't know how well this will sell given how fragmented music fans are now, and all of this has been easily accessible for years. But oh well, we will see. Great for those that collect vinyl, I guess.

They actually skipped 1978 to 1984 altogether. No "Come Together" from 1978, which was a legitimate hit song. No "Remember" or anything from NITH and nothing from RIAHP. The latter tends to get shortchanged because of no Joe or Brad on that album. They skimped a bit on their 1st album, with only Mama Kin and Dream On included where plenty of their other albums got 5 songs on there.

Some of us are still in our bitters I suppose. Exactly! This doesn't qualify as "never heard before" material. Other than some "Radio Edit" or "CHR Edit" (Which aren't hard to find, by the way), they're the same songs we heard a million times.

I think we all fall down was supposed to be included in some movie but it got scrapped. Probably they still had contractual obligations to release the song somehow.
The song is cute but not an aerosmith song and not an iconic single to include in a GH. Legendary child was the perfect easy choice having a cool MV and featuring multiple televised perfromances.
The many single edits suck.
This is GARBAGE but Apparently now everybody is allowed to Shit on the band without being called names 😆
welcome to the club. I'll buy Joey's coffee instead.

What an odd release. Is this the results of that.... Whatever it was that happened, the other year? Some sale or summat. I'm not sure who the audience will be who actually buys this? All them different formats of stuff the fans probably already own several times older. Are they hoping to gain a new audience with this? It doesn't make sense. A large part of me looks forward to getting this last run out of the way so we can all say goodbye and give thanks for the great music and shows and everything.... I dunno.....

I agree.. For the most part this a very good selection of songs for a greatest hits album. Greatests Hits are not generally geared towards die hards like forum members. This is a great selection of songs with some deeper tracks that could be a gateway for a casual into more of their deeper tracks. It isn't for me but no need to complain about it. "The Road Starts Hear" was a great treat for 99.99% of the die hards. Hopefully there are more releases to come.. I love my Vinyl and would love to have those first two albums to throw on while entertaining but I don't have much use for the last two. If I find with a decent discount someday I would probably scoop it up. People expect way too much for a band of their age.

I think people see what other bands are capable of doing and see the little to nothing Aerosmith does and it feels like the barest minimum. When people are told time and time again good things are coming and then essentially get a little bit different Oh Yeah! Aerosmith's Ultimate hits again they can be a little terse. Yeah, great another greatest hits comp. We can throw this on the stockade of greatest hits albums they've given us time and time again.
But it is what it is. No used getting uppity over Aerosmith doing what Aerosmith always does. Like sellouts said most of us stopped giving a shit about greatest hits comps years ago. This is a casuals money grabber. Go get that money guys.

why neutered versions of some of their songs? I don't want to hear the "single" versions. I guess it doesn't matter because I won't be buying yet another compilation album. Give me an EP with four new hard rocking songs and I would be happy.

I think they are going to the greatest hits well one too many times. Its doubtful there will be much of a market for this outside of the few OCD Aero fans who need to own absolutely everything.
The world has moved towards digital and streaming, which offer better alternatives for discovering bands. The only places I even see CDs anymore are thrift stores which are overflowing and sell them for $1 or less. Vinyl has a niche, but I reckon those generally aren't greatest hits type people.

Surprisingly, CDs appear to be on the upswing again. Prices are rising, and a resurgence appears to be bubbling. Given the renewed popularity of vinyl and even cassette, it'd be crazy to think that CD won't follow the same path. History always repeats itself.

I think they are going to the greatest hits well one too many times. One comment I saw somewhere was something like "Thank God, Aerosmith has finally released a greatest hits collection!"
All but one person caught the sarcasm immediately.
