I'm around 8 feet from the right side catwalk! Yeah baby I've wondered about something: can you see what seats are close to those side catwalks when you buy them? Are they marked on the seat plan? That's a valid question, but I think the map of the venue/seats it way too schematic to show this accurately... This is amazing. BRIGHT LIGHT FRIGHT. FUCK YEAH!!! OMFG! Joe has done it for some solo shows and on the Vampires tour this year. But it hasn't made an Aerosmith set since the Get a Grip days! And I think Aerosmith played it live about a dozen times in over 45 years. So that's pretty damn special. Sad to see SOSAD out, but even without it, it's still another very good set. Hoping the rest of the tour goes like this. 7.5% done, 92.5% to go. THIS. IS. AWESOME! Finally! Thank (rock) god! I've been long bitching about it Hope it's not a one-off. I am beginning to think, somebody (from the band/crew/management/team) is actually reading our forum and takes into account what we are saying here So.... how about a backstage passes for those 20 most active members?! I noticed this on their 2nd show. It seems this will continue like that. Great little touch! Although, it's not "his" drum set... it's Joey's

Although, it's not "his" drum set... it's Joey's Yes, I have wondered if having this in the set wasn't something Joe has wanted for a while and Steven decided to give his blessing as a gift for Joe's birthday. We'll see next week, I guess. I love the song, it has such great energy. If anyone is reading the forums, I don't even need a backstage pass... I just want back what the past few years took away from me. A tour here ( edit for anyone who didn't get it: the date on the ticket in the photo below is 09 July 2020 - on the 2020 tour that got pushed to 2021, then to 2022, then cancelled altogether). The wording in that tweet irked me too, though I'll cut him some slack, it's not like I always choose my words carefully when quickly posting stuff online...

Philly set seems terrible now lol looks like a great show. My itch to try to get to Boston for new years is getting worse and worse lol my poor wife. It wasn't terrible, it was okay. I kinda caught flack for saying that. But it is what it is. It's a good set. There's lot of wonderful things about it. The only complaint I had about the Philly set is it felt like it could be two or three songs longer. But that is also because the band has spoiled us Philly fans in recent years. We got Sick as a Dog, Rattlesnake Shake, Chip Away the Stone as a added encore song, etc. The encore of Walk This Way and Dream On just felt a little basic. Throw in also something like Walkin the Dog or Chip Away the Stone and what was a great set list becomes a killer set list. Also, notice we haven't gotten Train yet. That's interesting.

I feel you... Except I have Atlantic Ocean (fine, half of it) to cross to get to Boston But NYE show in their hometown is bound to be mind-blowing (I know, I said the same about Fenway and it wasn't THAT good), so I am really itching... I want to be careful about how I word this, but I don't think the hometown shows have really stood out from any other shows on their respective tours. At least in terms of length or setlist. If anything I'd say these shows have contained more hits than surrounding shows. I'm not complaining, as we've certainly had more shows than anywhere else, and tours usually start out around here which leads to fresher sets, but I don't think if you were to review setlists over the last 25 years, the New England shows would finish top 5 in many legs. If you go in expecting 'mind-blowing' relative to these first three nights, you're likely in for a let down. Now Japan on the other hand... There is one big difference I've noticed with the New England shows. Steven behaves himself in front of family and friends. I remember the first show I went to back in 97, I was surprised how 'PG' he seemed compared to live recordings I had listened to. No swearing or innuendos. He seemed to have very little banter, until announcing his parents in the crowd about half way through.... 2nd show was a NYE and all their families were there. The trend has generally continued, although much like with lyrics, Steven trips up from time to time. All things considered, last years 2 shows were probably the most special hometown shows I've seen in 25 years. Not necessarily for the performance compared to past shows, but relative to expectations heading into them. The band hadn't played in 2 and a half years, and had been scheduling, cancelling and moving shows, often closer to the actual date. There was very little news from them either other than the generic looking forward to seeing everyone soon type stuff, Brad sounded like he was done in an interview. It felt like they were just putting off the inevitable in order to avoid cutting a big refund check. Even the day of Bangor show, there was doubt it would actually happen, or if it did how they would sound. Then they showed up very near peak form, like they hadn't missed a beat. If only Steven hadn't screwed up the 2nd verse of Dream On, the Fenway show would have probably been released on Blu Ray by now.

I'm just glad Joe dedcided to give "Stop Messin' Around" a well deserved rest (I wouldn't mind at all if the song rests for the remainder of the tour)
Even Tom ends up clapping at Joe for playing it!!

I am in the minoroty but I always enjoy Stop Messin round and they have been playing it a bit different past tours. It always looks boring on paper but I like it. BLT has never been one of my favorites but it is cool to see him switch it up and it was a good performance. I saw Joe do it solo a year or two ago and it was an abomination.. There aren't too many songs Joe can pull off.. Would be nice to see him mix in Red House, Shakin My Cage or Combination (with Steven's help) too.. Bright Light Fright is like two minutes, may as well do two songs.
Another great setlist though.. I would have loved to be at any of these shows so far. Good job boys \m/

An amazing night for sure. I'll keep this short as aeronyc has eloquently described the experience but agree they looked like they could play another 20 years. Joe only came to our catwalk once during Cryin but Tom...Tom was really something to behold last night. He has always been great but having him play in my face at a distance closer than I keep my home TV set I was really able to just watch in awe of his playing. Truly amazing. Brad and Joe as humble as ever. Doesn't matter whether they play for 200 people on their solo stuff or for tens of thousands in a huge arena with the big band. Just doing what they only can do when together. Accept no imitations. Steven...well we all know he wraps it all up and doles it out to us as only he can and we lap it up. It's never enough. "Always leave em wanting more". They did! Our seats were actually 2nd row of the section and I didn't have to contend with anybody in front of me holding their phone over their head all night, which is a modern day concert-goers affliction. As far as knowing where the catwalk will be...the diagrams give a good general idea but after the stage is actually set up there are usually a number of extra seats that can be released, most of which are smack by the catwalk. Thanks to the teleprompter I was able to see that IDWTMAT was about to happen and was able to fly up the approximately 30 rows of stairs (special thanks to my Schwinn Airdyne) for the restroom and a beer and be back in my seat for Rats! Also agree re Boston setlists that they aren't particularly deep, and I don't dissect those shows as they are happening like I usually might, hanging on every riff. I go for the party, to be with the Aerosmith family which is the band and their families, the Boston hometown crowd, and this year my family too. It's warm and fuzzy.

I agree it won't be anything ground breaking may even be a tad worse than what's happening now, but for me, this would be a nice bookend to my fandom. I started at MSG during 9 Lives (Couldn't drive before that tour due to not being old enough) and ended up going to the new years shows in 96 and 97 in Boston. I know the tour will continue well into 2024 if all goes well but again this would be a nice way to say goodbye from my end. And apparently the Devils are playing the Bruins the night before so it would also be a hockey road trip.
