Yes I didn't read far enough into that one to realize it was political in nature and not as factual and informative as I would have wanted. My bad as I was rushing about looking for links about Turks relationship to Kurds. I'll do better and I was not trying to polute the conversation with politics. Facts are still facts and most can overlook the politics. Not me I suppose.

It's all good! I think we have an intellegent conversation going that will be ongoing and as we watch the events unfold it will stay interesting if we keep it on topic and informative with facts and keep politics from poluting the thought process.

From Wiki: Petrocurrencies
This helped me understand what you are saying better. I had no understanding how oil played into the value of currencies so much. The rest of the article also makes it clear for me.

I agree Politics just makes me want to throw up my hands most of the time and say whatever. Nothing will be done until we get way beyond Democrats and Republicans. To be continued later! Have a great night.

THERE IT IS!!!
Chechens!!! Putin's enemies are reaping the benefits of running ISIS. This will bring power and money exponentially to Putin's enemy. This is the reason the Sevastopol naval base was so important to take back from the Ukraine.www.foxnews.com/world/2014/07/02/ethnic-chechen-who-served-in-georgian-army-is-rising-star-al-qaida-breakaway/It is from FOX News so I am looking for confirmation from other sources to look for different points of view.
If this is accurate then look for an invasion on a grand scale of Georgia from the troops in Crimea when they make Socci the nicest Russian military base that ever existed. While the same sorties that attack Georgia will overfly Turkey and drop a few nuggets of fire on the ISIS front before refueling on the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov off the Syrian coast.
Also this might make you think a little. It's from Newsweek just read for the facts and look for confirmation later.

This is an important link!!www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-28125687At the bottom of the story about Iranian TU-25s being returned to Iraq there are several links to sources of info that are not from FOX or CNN or US based news sources.A few years after "stabilizing" Iraq we dropped everything and walked out. Insane. Russia and Iran wouldn't even want to be involved if we had just kept some troops there and kept a handle on the whole thing. If it bothered our government then they would ask Iran to leave.such as:ISIS' half-a-billion-dollar bank heist makes it world's richest terror group.www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/10899995/ISIS-half-a-billion-dollar-bank-heist-makes-it-worlds-richest-terror-group.htmlMosul where they got the money is in Iraq. I feel I have some common sense and common sense said to me "How can we let a terrorist group get hold of $billions in oil. We were concerned with the fact Osama Bin Laden had $300million from his dad. Our government knew of ISIS progress before we as the general public did. Thye knew the money existed in Iraq and didn't care. They don't care about the loss of the oil.Could Saudi Arabia Be the Next ISIS Conquest?www.vocativ.com/world/iraq-world/saudi-arabia-next-isis-conquest/?utm_campaign=June1&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=outbrainMore opinionated and political but great maps and some facts to ponder.
I have to assume the Arab Union, OPEC still? is as stupid as we are. Of course all this is a threat to Saudi Arabia. Tehn Kuwait. I saw where we were sending more troops to Kuwait. Did you know they still owe us like $11billion from the very first gulf war? Wouldnt you want to pay up for someone handing you back your country, where they import workers so they can ALL live like kings and queens? So that the US would come back and protect you again? Well, we are still protecting them as of last week. We just don't demand payment of debt. Have you seen how well the ruling class lives.........I just looked up how many there are, I have seen on TV how well Kuwaiti citizens live:
There are around 1 to 1.5 million Kuwaitis, and 2 million foreign workers in the country. The Arab Kuwaitis are supported by their country's oil wealth and hire foreigners to do all the lowly jobs. The only disadvantaged are the migrant workers, because the local population is supported by oil dollars. And if those foreigners lose their jobs they are deported to their country of origin. Most of them are Indians and Egyptians. I was friends of two Kuwaiti brothers (working class, palestinians, imported from Jordan in their case), their father was a mid level oil management person, $240k a year. Sent them $4k each a month while they went to school here. Saddam invaded Kuwait. Some of the palestinian working class sided with Saddam. After the US got their country back for them they kicked all the palestinians out, who went to Jordan for the most part as did the family of the brothers I knew, and Kuwait brought in people from Asia. Above it says Indians and so on. SO they owe us money and we probably give these rich fk's billions in aid a year. I don't know but I wouldn't doubt it. The ISIS leader said Jordan is also on his hit list. (Awesome story....to me anyway. One of the brothers was a scam artist. But the other was so smart. Engineering grad finally (and actually he graduated before the war) and could not get a job. So he figures out maybe if he lies in the interview process, so he said he worked for Kuwaiti Board of Power, who can check!! Gets a great job and over 4 years and 5 jobs was making mid $150k for a firm in Minneapolis. ) Someone had better get a clue................whatever. www.iraqinews.com/A little sketchy but a source for interesting facts.
Read. People in the eye of the storm who see they are going to self govern? OK.www.jpost.com/Breaking-News/Iraq-denies-veracity-of-footage-purporting-to-show-ISIS-leader-361589It seems that Iraq is denying a lot these days. They also say that they didn't abandon the Saudi border but 30000 Saudi troops disagree.
Any one who has take a Statistics class can look at anything in the news with some doubt. The map of the progress of ISIS is one of them. They have taken hold in some of the cities, but then that entire half of the country is painted to be in control. Truth probably is that these people are sitting in the middle of the desert, no hope of anything, so you think they are going to die for ANYONE? No. Its futile. So until we don't want some sense of control over the oil......which it seems maybe we don't.......and until all the Russian nukes are found.......if they are in fact lost......we might stick in the area a bit longer.Outlook Indiawww.outlookindia.com/news/article/Nearly-600-Indians-to-Come-Back-From-Iraq-by-July-7/848243Iranian Jets Deployed to Help Iraq Fight Militants

The people in metro areas like Bagdad, and maybe there is only Bagdad like that, seem to want to fight for themselves.www.nytimes.com/2014/06/30/world/middleeast/iraq.html?_r=0There have also been unconfirmed reports that Iran was prepared to return some of the Iraqi warplanes that Saddam Hussein flew to Iran in 1991 to escape American destruction. Those included 24 French F-1 Mirage fighters and 80 Russian jets.Good. Not read, but they seem to need the planes............to go with our anti aircraft missiles that ISIS now have :/

www.newsweek.com/enemy-ahoy-china-and-russia-strive-naval-supremacy-256825 I really don't think Russia taking over Crimea, and with it the naval base, is anymore deep than the fact it is the only Russian base not surrounded in ice 6 months of the year. With Ukraine in chaos.....a government that was at the time and maybe now in control by people who took it over in a coup......it was detrimental that they did what they did. That they did it with a vote peacefully makes it hard to fault them. I always thought China and Russia had military to match ours, together if not separately. SO that article didn't phase me as much as China's threats to Japan about claiming expanded ocean territory.........called Blue National Soil in the article you posted. "China’s ambitions go far beyond this increase in naval hardware. Chinese leaders now routinely refer to “blue national soil”—the oceans that extend off its coast line—which they demarcate far beyond the 200 nautical miles that are its “exclusive economic zone” under the U.N.’s Law of the Sea Treaty."

Didn't you say you had a series of maps that showed "the history" of all their chaos in the area? Over 1400 years? Yes! I have lost it inside the myriad of folders in my favorites if I saved it at all. I have found similar maps for the Ottoman Empire, Byzantines, Persians, and others but the one I was talking about I can't find. I'll keep looking. edit 7-12 Here is a news source I haven't seen before. Seems to have lots of info. I haven't seen which way it slants politically but worth keeping an eye on.

www.nytimes.com/2014/07/20/world/middleeast/5-bombs-explode-in-baghdad-as-dispute-continues-with-jordan.html?_r=0
(just a noteworthy quote) I wager the battle for Baghdad will commence with an offensive to seize Baghdad International Airport. Once that happens the Iraqi Parliament will disperse in complete disarray (after they loot the treasury) and Nouri al-Maliki will flee. If IS successfully seizes the airport those 15,000 US Embassy employees, their families and troops provided for security will be in a world of shit. The US will have to apply overwhelming force to evacuate them. plus.google.com/+RT/posts/ZAF8PhU5iRD
