I have a few that I had wrong for years, such as...
YSMC Actual line: Please say you'll stick around What I thought: You say you're scared to run
Mama Kin Actual line: Always out paradin' What I thought: Always operatin'
Sweet Emotion: Actual line: Some sweat hog mama What I thought: Some sweet talkin' mama
Anyone else have some that they found out they had wrong after many years?

So many its stupid. YSMC "its not Hair, its Head" is the most meaningful to me recently. I just read the above more closely. I would have bet my life tonight it was "operating'. I guess lyric sheets were not included in their albums.

I think the problem with this thread is that everyone is convinced they know the lyrics.

Gonna go for the obvious one; Big Ten Inch Record
Actual Line: 'cept for my big ten inch...
What I thought it was: Suck on my big ten inch
also, Beyond Beautiful:
Actual line: Love my love, my love du jour
What I Thought it was: Love my love, my love to Joe
and Walk on Water:
Actual line: Hey little darlin' Your lovin's legendary
What I thought it was: Hey little Darlin', your love's electric baby
and Just Push Play:
Actual Line: Kickin' off the Cashmere, puttin' on the Kasbah
What I thought it was: Kickin' off the Cashmere, puttin' on a girl's bra
That's all I can think of for now...

I am infamous for this. I could say one for at least 2/3 of Aerosmith's songs. And really don't have time to list any right now.
I will say I always thought it was "some sweat hoggin' mama"

I guess lyric sheets were not included in their albums. You know, a funny thing is that Manic Street Preachers made a song some years ago, it's called "Autumn Song", they said they were partially inspired from YSMC, and their song says "hair" and not "head"! I guess they missed the lyric as well?!

Not much about that song that seems inspired by YSMC so I would say you are right. Its a good song though.

Nice band, I never heard of them, but they sound good. You know It's hard to understand why this band never made it in the states. It's a big band in Europe. And trust me a very very good one.

That line is taken right out of the song......musically no comparison.

I went to 15 lyric sites yesterday and none of them were consistent regarding the lyrics of YSMC. I never see that as I believe they just copy each other. The last verse is all over the board.

Monkey on My Back: Actual Line: but now you find your crystal balls are draggin' What I thought: but now you find your crystal balls are crackin'
...I like my line better. Thinking about someone's balls cracking seems more dramatic than dragging.

I always knew it was dragging which I thought went hand in hand with chasing the dragon, and the idea of using crystal balls for vision. Almost like he's using the crystal balls to chase his dragon. (Don't mind me, I drank tequila tonight)
