I was watching this very long but great lesson of Alex showing how to play Spirit of Radio and literally lol'ed at the part I queued up.
"And then you go home!"
EDIT: It makes you go to YouTube, but the marker still works (or 37:25 if it doesn't).

Pretty sure my first Rush album was All The World's a Stage back in 1976 or 77. The songs had such a different feel/flavor/vibe I kind of became mesmerized by it and floated through having different favorite songs that were played again and again. Over the next year I used what money I could earn to buy up the rest of the discography, and then there was no looking back. I can't zero in on a favorite song, so I will post what jumped out at me in the moment

My first Rush album was Moving Pictures, but I was a fan long before that. MP was just released around the time that I could actually afford to purchase anything. Over the years my favorite Rush song has changed many times, too many to remember in one sitting, but here's some of the highlights: Something for Nothing, Tears, Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Red Barchetta, The Analog Kid, In The End, Spirit of Radio, The Trees, Freewill, Closer to The Heart..and gave many listens to the rest of the catalog as well, of course. black911 I only saw them once live, but one of the things that stood out was during Subdivisions they would play the word "Subdivisions" over these bullhorn like speakers hanging from the center of the ceiling during the song and it gave a really cool extra effect. Your attention would be 'subdivided' between the live action on the stage and the prerecorded "Subdivisions" coming from the ceiling.

On this other forum I belong to, which has nothing to do with music or Rush, this guy was talking about how he replaced the bass speakers in his vehicle, and another guy said he needs to do this too so he can enjoy Geddy Lee and other bassists more, and the first guy said this:

This is a band that I always knew was around, know their big singles, but never really gave much time to. It is a shame to, because I think all those years I was listening to shit I could've been listening to Rush.
I love threads like these because I discover so much great music through you guys.

Same for me until about five years ago? Then someone pointed me to an online radio show where a local death metal band I like would do a live Q&A. In between the actual Q&A, quite a bit of music was played and one of the songs played was Freewill. And that was it. Love that one! Played it sooo many times...

I took a friend to a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert in 2010, kind a simple minded person if that even means anything but feel the need to say, and after he was bewildered and kept saying.....knowing in the 30 years he knew me and knew i had seen Tom Petty 7, 8 timed.....I can not believe I wasted a life of not going to see Tom Petty in concert.
