When is O'Reilly not spot on? And why does me saying that make me a freak (racist Republican) in most peoples eyes? As I said in another thread, education and drive will help everyone succeed.

The words "debunk" and "Bill O'Reilly" used in the same sentence just make me cringe. Bill O'Reilly is hardly unbiased. It doesn't surprise me that he's trying to "debunk" white privilege -- he is rather openly and blatantly bigoted, after all.
It doesn't surprise me that 4bits is stupid enough to take the shit that spews forth from Bill O'Reilly's mouth as gospel. O'Reilly validates his need to still feel like he's "a good guy" after he's done shitting on women and minorities. He's oblivious about male privilege, too -- I remember having quite a few back-and-forths with 4bits in which he tried to defend his objectification of female bodies as "normal, healthy, guy stuff!" Ah, it must be great to be a white male and to have everyone validate you whenever you take a shit on other people! It must be great to be able to delude yourself into thinking that all the shit you pile onto other human beings is "Normal, natural, healthy stuff!"
But, part of being a compassionate human being means learning to recognize all the ways that you're unconsciously shitting on others. If you stay blind to all the privileges you cash in every day, then, you're actually actively taking part in a system that works to keep women and minorities down.
Also, use your brain: Bill O'Reilly is WHITE! I'm sure many of us posting here on AF2 are, also, WHITE! White people generally tend to be blind to white privilege. White people generally don't see the structures of racial oppression in our society. If you're white, then the fact that you believe that "White Privilege is a myth!" is totally unsurprising -- this is practically a given, since your white-ness means that you don't have to deal with any of this stuff. The fact that you or Bill O'Reilly deny it isn't surprising at all. A "debunking of White Privilege" would carry a lot more weight if it came from a Latino, a black person, or an Asian person. You won't hear any of these folks "debunking" white privilege, because it's not quite as easy to shut your eyes and pretend that it doesn't exist when you are not white!
Bill O'Reilly is a moron! How can you take anything he says seriously at all? I mean, this is a guy who really thought "Science can't explain the tides! Only Jeeeee-sus can explain that!"

How can you take anything he says seriously at all? I mean, this is a guy who really thought "Science can't explain the tides! Only Jeeeee-sus can explain that!" Instead of calling people names, perhaps you could address the points Bill O'Reilly made and construct a counter argument, perhaps you could persuade me and others to see things as you do. O'Reilly is intelligent and makes valid, interesting commentary. Just because you disagree with his politics doesn't make him a moron. I disagree with Obama on his politics and world view, but I acknowledge that he is a bright guy and well educated. I would rather challenge Obama in the arena of ideas than to just call him nasty names, as that would make me look intellectually weak. O'Reilly has been on television for years, had a radio show, has written numerous books and op-ed pieces. Please give me just one verifiable reference that will illustrate to all of us of how he has "shit on woman & minorities" & a reference that show cases how he is "openly & "blatantly bigoted" as you stated. Just one reference please that I can view or read. As far as our discussions on the sexual nature of men, I just can't seem to explain it to you in a way that doesn't offend you. I don't know why you are so angry that men are naturally attracted to pretty girls. It's just the way nature works. I never encompassed morality into those discussions with you. I should have. I acknowledge that good, honorable & decent men are constrained from doing the wrong thing because they have moral integrity. But that doesn't negate the fact that men are stimulated by what attracts them. A boy or man looking at a girl is a natural and normal behavior. A boy or man fantasizing about a girl is normal male behavior dictated by our hormones. It just is. If it doesn't hurt any one or make one uncomfortable then it's probably ok. There are always exceptions of course. You believe it's abnormal or immoral for a boy or man to gratify himself while looking at a girl in a magazine or on the internet. It's neither. It nature. I like having a spirited debate with anyone. I respect your views and passionate stance on women's issues, politics, religion etc. I hope we can continue our debates with a mutual respect for one another's opinions. Peace & Love Kid, Peace & Love

I think it's funny that people think O'Reilly is a conservative. In fact O'Reilly gives Obama far more credit than he deserves. Why do you think O'Reilly gets to interview Obama? It's because he coddles up to him...sure, he asks more tougher questions than most reporters do, but he doesn't go far enough either. O'Reilly is as independent as they come.

Label O'Reilly however you wish, but the man speaketh the truth. At least that's what most Americans think, as judged by his high ratings. Of course, the folks who don't like his message will just call him all kinds of negative things.
Air-Roo obviously buys into the "oppression" and "victim" mentality. Hell, the highest ranking official in the USA is (mostly) black (Obama), the highest ranking "policeman" (Holder) is black, the ex-Secretary of Defense (Powell) is black, the ex-Secretary of State (Clinton) is a woman who got within spitting distance of the presidency, and many other successful women are governors of states, senators, and CEOs of major companies. However, despite all that, Air-Roo still paints everything with that "oppression" and "victim" brush.
There's a reason why more minorites are not that successful, and it largely deals with family values and priorities. They don't place high emphasis on a strong family or on education. That's why they hang around all the time on street corners in big cities, when they should be home with their families. That's why many cannot form a proper sentence (much less write one), because they're not at home studying. Although there's always exceptions, the focus is on "hanging out", sports and "getting what they can". Those values are not conducive to getting ahead in this competitive society. Sure, some have a tough family life (so do many white people). However, at a certain point, we all have to rise above it and do what it takes to succeed - not simply sit around and blame others for our difficulties.
