was it ever performed live, and if so, is it possible for any user to upload it on you tube? I'm trying to compare studio and live lyrics
Now the tallest of two with a brush full of blue Paints surrealist scenes on the wall

I don't think it's ever been played live.
By the way, is Critical Mass anywhere near Boston, Mass?

i'm bumpin this one to ask another question
"He points to my heart tellin' me if I'm smart Practice and phase... ... Out and admit... when the shoe doesn't fit And I went screamin' out down the hall"
in your opinion, how correct are those lyrics? I totally can't make out "practice and phase" I have no idea what he says there. sounds like "practice", but the other word I just don't get. If it is "phase" indeed, then maybe it connects with the next word, "out" , thus giving "phase out", which actually means something. But then again, how can you practice phasing out?
and, "out and admit" ? this just can't be right. It's gotta be something that rhymes with "fit", "the shoe doesn't fit",and it's gotta be some kind of a threat to this guy, bikoz it made him scream shitless and run down the hall crying. What do you think the correct, or hypothetical, lyrics are?
come on people, by the looks of it, it is our only chance to dig deep into this song, especially now that 15 yrs old chicks masturbate to Tyler's shots in Crazy, while old farts like us program 40 year old drug songs on repeat.
Damn, dig this band. They released "draw the line" as a single in mono, making it refused by radio stations bikoz of the quality. And if some played it, they went "and here's that mono song by that number one American band, and you can find this tune on that album with no name and no logo on it, you know, the one you're not supposed to know unless you're told and shown". And o yea, the third single was "Give it up", which didn't even enter the charts being so vulgar and ... well... unambitious, to say the least. Any band can write "get it up", and thruout 80s they did, but Aerosmith could do better than that. Lyrically, that is, bikoz musically I find the song to be bitchin'.
So, yea, help me out peeps, please

"He" is a she in the rest of the song..... I have thought it was a coven of witches that are invading his home since I was a kid, but reading the lyrics I don't know how I came to that conclusion Get it Up is far above 80's raunchy songs.....IMO.

I always assumed it was a drugged out trippy song Tyler wrote about aliens. I don't worry about the lyrics much, and don't presume they have to make sense. I always really liked this song.

I have never heard of the song being performed live...seems like that would be pretty impossible. As for the lyrics, I thought they were basically from a dream/nightmare that Jack Douglas had and told to Tyler...who basically just took that story and made some of the words rhyme.
