Link doesn't seem to work for me, sadly.
I don't recall him wearing makeup in the pics I've seen (Ross Halfin had some, I'm absolutely sure of that, but he has tons of Aerosmith photos on his website and I'm too lazy to go through them now), but I do remember the boots.

Joe only wore the boots, no make up and he came out and played Strutter.

"At a number of performances including Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Houston, Texas fans got a special treat when Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry joined Kiss onstage for the song "Strutter"; he even donned high heeled boots, borrowed from Paul Stanley for the song. This was the first time Kiss had had someone outside the band play on stage with them, if not counting "Unplugged" and "Symphony" concerts which were special events and not part of any tour. Ted Nugent was added to the line up for the September 7 show in Detroit, MI." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocksimus_Maximus_Tour/World_Domination_Tour

That might have been tough since Aerosmith came on 2nd and Steven at the time had a huge problem with the whole tour. I doubt he would have appreciated Joe walking around with even a remnant of the makeup on. lol It's been widely reported that Steven and Joey wanted nothing/very little to do with KISS and strongly disagreed with the whole tour concept. I know from a fans POV it was a pretty good bang for your buck at the time even with the competing tour packages offered by both bands and escalating prices.

I got the impression it was after the fact Steven called them "clownish" or something like that and Gene then took offense. I can't help thinking how well Coop's signature works here, lol. Surprising Gene wouldn't know it...

I got the impression it was after the fact Steven called them "clownish" or something like that and Gene then took offense. That well after the fact when it all came to light/came to a head but the actual disdain from Steven/Joey was during the tour. Several members of KISS have gone on the record in various mediums to talk about that particular tour. The most detailed account if you can call it detailed was in the latest Peter Criss bio. Peter described Tom/Brad as being great to his wife and family as well as to the other KISS family members but that Steven/Joey didn't want anything to do with KISS. KISS being professional kept a lid on the incident until Steven ran his mouth about KISS being "clownish" which allowed them to retort with their own side of the story. Let's face it though, that tour while it made a lot of money carried a lot of baggage in the form of egos that probably didn't coexist very well together. LET THE MUSIC DO THE TALKING was played as an opener on that tour for a reason. There was even obvious tension with "Steven's" catwalk, there were comments made about that by different KISS band members as well. Not the greatest tour for some of the guys but it made them some good cash and it was an interesting tour to see from a fans perspective. 14-15 songs of greatest hits was all I needed to see out of KISS, no need to see them play a full set as the main act.

This is why I would have liked to see it. Also because this happened quite a few times during that tour: (at this point, I'd be going through the roof for almost any song from Rocks because they almost never seem to play anything except Saddle and a partial Home Tonight anymore)

I really am not trying to be an ass, but I think "14 or 15 of Kisses greatest hits" will play over in my head all week......wondering I'm not trying to be an ass either, BUT do Kiss actually have 14 or 15 hits?

It would be heavy on the 70s output, with a few 80s or 90s songs sprinkled in. My caveat, I want Frehley playing lead guitar.
