I was listening to iTunes and decided to filter for Aerosmith and then sort by most plays. The #1 doesn't surprise me at all, but shortly after that I have no idea what happened. For example, I don't like LuvXXX at all really, but it made #15 somehow. I think Luv XXX is a good song, and could have been great with better lyrics. Here's my shock though: Rats (or anything else from Rocks) didn't make top 15?! I like that DWM is so well represented though (pretty sure that holds true for me as well, it's an album I can sink my teeth into at any time of the day).

It's likely because it's track # 1 on their newest album. So people say, "let's check out Aerosmith's latest album starting at track # 1". I doubt many stick around to listen to the whole album. I doubt many even make it through all of Luv XXX. Maybe it gets counted as a "play" even if they only listen to half of it.

^ This is true, and to add to that, if you look at the bottom you'll see I have 180 Aerosmith songs. In total I have over 1300 songs on the iPod, and I usually set it to random, so it picks the next songs, not me. This is why all of these songs aren't way higher, just too much competition. But when a song like Luv XXX comes on it gets the quick Next, but still counts as a 'play'.
On the other hand, when I'm in the mood to listen to some music at home, I listen on the laptop with good external speakers. In that case I definitely make my own playlist for the night, and since I'm really into it in these cases, I'll often play something like YSMC 2 or 3 times in a row, thus the higher counts at the top of the list.

I was at a comedy show last other night and Mike Murray was doing his bit and he mentioned "Dream On" followed by a pretty accurate Steven Tyler impression. I'd describe it further but it's a bit hard to give you an idea of it without giving you the whole rundown of the act. I kinda didn't feel like the youngest person in the room anymore....

You can google Mike Murray-I had never heard of him prior. I don't know if there are any YouTube videos but he's a local comedian that was once deaf until he had corrective surgery. He formed the fundraising organization that put on the show.

These guys give their reactions to hearing songs for the first time. In this video they're doing Wish You Were Here, and it's not the best reaction video they've ever done, but part way through, they said this...

This rock is music to investors’ earsApril 4 2018, 5:00pm, The Times Faroe Petroleum has its semi-submersible rig ready after it discovers new oil and gas resources It may not be to everyone’s taste in music, but Aerosmith’s rock has proved a winning bet for Faroe Petroleum. Shares in the oil and gas explorer surged after it said that it had discovered significant volumes of gas and condensate at a prospect in the Norwegian Sea that its geologists had named after the American band. Somewhat disappointingly, Aerosmith — which lies at a depth of 3,932 metres — has been renamed Hades since then by OMV, the operator, while another prospect, Zappa, even deeper at 4,223 metres, has been called Iris. The results of both did not disappoint, however. Hades is estimated to contain between 19 million and 113 million barrels and Iris between 19 million and 132 million barrels. www.thetimes.co.uk/article/this-rock-is-music-to-investors-ears-s7lftv99d

The DJs were discussing rock's greatest drummers yesterday, with lots of talk of Peart and Bonham of course. I barely heard the beginning of the discussion where someone mentioned Joey, but they went on something like this:
"Joey Kramer? I mean, I love Aerosmith, but I don't know, is he one of the rock greats?" "Well, I'm considering their entire musical legacy, not just technical skills"

Saw Dee Snider sing Dream On in Rocktopia this week. He really pounded it, and much more so than the Zep he sang.

I was buying a new Tacoma last night and the salesman was looking at his records to see if I was in the system and he said "Do you also use the email joeperry_1999?" I told him that was me but I don't really use that anymore. He was kind of grinning so I asked if he knew who Joe Perry was and he said "Of course! Aerosmith!" So I told him I was going to see Joe and Brad next Thursday and he was pretty excited about that, and we ended up talking Aerosmith for about 15 minutes. He actually knew his stuff and wasn't just trying to suck up. He knew about the breakup/reunion, Done With Mirrors being the first album after that, and so on. Pretty cool guy, for a car salesman anyway.
