Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, investors shelve plans for Waikiki restaurant and nightclub Oct 22, 2014, 7:36am HST A plan to develop a new restaurant and nightclub in Hawaii involving Aerosmith frontman and part-time Maui resident Steven Tyler has likely been shelved, one of the operating partners told PBN. "I don't think this nightclub is going to happen," Bill Lanting, a hotel industry veteran who currently works for Los Angeles-based Thorofare Capital Inc., told PBN. "We have been unable to raise sufficient capital for the venture." Plans were to open Jaded Nightclub in the 14,000-square-feet former Senior Frogs space on the third floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki, according to a website created for the project. "This space will soon be renovated into Waikiki's only upscale restaurant and world-class, Vegas-style nightclub," the site said. "Led by international rock and roll impresario Steven Tyler and local hotel and restaurant owner/operators Bill Lanting and Jeff Haines, the management of Jaded Nightclub is now assembling a 'dream team' of professionals to execute their vision for this undertaking." Jaded Nightclub planned to be open by the middle of this year, the site said. www.bizjournals.com/pacific/blog/morning_call/2014/10/aerosmiths-steven-tyler-investors-shelve-plans-for.html
