Inspired by 4bits 'Guilty Pleasures' thread, what are your concert confessions for bands you have seen (or things you have done there) that don't usually mention? For me, it was The Monkees. I had a girlfriend who was absolutely crazy over them and somehow in a moment of weakness she roped me into going with her. Don't get me wrong, I love the TV show, but yeah, live, not something I ever would have chosen to go to. So ok, what do you got?

I've gone to the Country Thunder music festival the past two years and am going again this year. In fact, my local Aerosmith date conflicts with the festival date, so I'm traveling to see Aerosmith in Detroit. I've actually taken a liking to modern country music and love the whole country festival experience...lots of drinking, lots of tailgating, meeting new people, lots of eye candy. Girls wearing cowboy boots with the shortest shorts. It's great.
I've seen Bon Jovi five times.
However, I also saw Metallica three times on the Death Magnetic tour and Megadeth once. Can I have my man card back now?
I do feel like I'm cheating on Aerosmith though since while I saw Metallica three times in one tour, the most I saw Aerosmith in one tour was twice. Then again, good Aero tix are more expensive and they also come back around more often. I also had many friends who were also big Metallica fans.

My Wife & I brought my daughter to see Big Time Rush with Cody Simpson. It was a nightmare. 18000 screaming 8-14 year old girls, I mean a deafening screeching scream, followed by the most annoying thundering bass line which was repetitive for every song. I was informed the next day by my teenage employees that they do that because Big Time Flush is not a real group that can sing,so they drown out the vocals with a heavy, thumping bass. I could feel the pounding in my chest. I had to go walk around, it was the Tweeter center in Mansfield.
I took my wife, then girlfriend to see Reo Speed Wagon, Styx and one more chick band at the tweeter center. We were still in that kinda new romantic stage of the relationship, so pull up a blanket on the lawn and leave your manhood at home I guess.
That's all I remember. Oh, yea, back in High School, I won tickets from a local radio station to be in Farenheit's video for Lost in Love Land, filmed in Boston. I have since seen the video, but I don't think they show the crowd from the bands perspective. It was kinda cool, brought my GF, she dressed the part with tight ass jeans or something, hoping to get noticed. Epic fail. I remember talking to Charlie Farren, cool dude. They put on a concert after filming, he played some of his JPP stuff.
Now, that's all I gots for ya's.

Not too many for me. Probably the only one that would raise eyebrows, was I saw Matchbox 20 when they first came out and I met Rob Thomas after the show. Nice guy, signed my ticket. Other than that, my best friend had tickets to the Spice Girls and asked me to go, but there was no way in hell. He's an odd duck. He and I are on completely different spectrums of the music scale. His idea of a rocking concert is Savage Garden. smh

My first concert ever was Peter Frampton, Omaha in 1979. My uncle grew up with the head road guy so it was quite a day. Back stage, set up that day, tour buses. Got to go to a movie the night before with Bob Mayo. I wish I knew who he was back then.

Oh, pull up a chair and sit yourselves down. I think I have you all beat. Leif Garrett. Yep. My best friend at the time was completely enamored with him, so I bought her two tix. We were in 7th or 8th grade, I think. My parents drove us downtown and we had nosebleed seats. I thought she was going to pee her pants watching him. I was less than thrilled. I do believe I've out-nerded you all!

Let me tell you Matt's Spice Girl story and you won't feel nerdy anymore. My buddy Matt loves them, why? I don't know. Nice too look at and all, but to me zero talent. This kid loves them the way we love Aerosmith. Anywho he buys tickets, asks me if I want to go. As I said, hell no. So he locks the tickets in his safe. Very paranoid, wont even take them out to look at. So the day arrives and he and a few of the girls in our little clique drive off to see them. They get to the place and there is trash everywhere and maintenance people cleaning up. He was so paranoid about the tickets disappearing he never looked at them after he bought them, so he had the date wrong and went to the show the day after the concert! I still tease him about it. He flew out to Vegas to see them so he did finally get his chance. I'll never understand it, but then again, he doesn't understand my love for all things Aerosmith and rock. Still my best buddy though even though he has awful taste in music. I could really really embarrass him by sharing another Spice Girl story of his, but I don't feel like typing with one finger anymore.

Hahahahaaa! Your friend had to have lost his mind! Can you imagine waiting and waiting and then MISSING the concert? LOL Poor dude. Yep, The Spice Girls were beautiful, but not outrageously talented or anything. I hope your finger heals so you can share the other Spice Girl story!

For me it's Britney Spears...multiple times. I even had front row for one of her shows. I would still see her again if her tickets weren't so darn expensive. She puts on a fantastic show, but it's not worth the kind of money she's charging these days.
Also...my first concert embarrassingly enough was Paula Abdul.
