^^ Wow, some great concerts there! I'd love to see Billy Joel/Elton John. How much were those tickets? I'm guessing they made Aerosmith look like a bargain.

When GA went bye bye I started buying from Ebay or scalpers to sit where I wanted. So you really don't want to remember how much you paid. It was a really great show though.

Hey. I saw MC Hammer once and it was by choice. LOL It was at the Jack FM (radio station) concert in Irvine and also on the bill were the Gin Blossoms, Missing Persons, Pat Benatar, Toto and Joe Walsh. I had a blast! I did see the Turtles in concert in Reno YEARS ago also by choice but there was nothing else to do and so that's my defense. I also remember the lousy screwdriver drinks at the bar because the 'juice' they used tasted like TANG powered drink mix. Okay..I'm old.

Wow EE, Milli Vanilli AND MC Hammer? We may have a winner. The Gin Blossoms are awesome though, and I've seen Pat Benatar myself, she was great.

Aerocooper, I saw Billy Joel/Elton John when they played Wrigley Field in Chicago a few years back. The tix were a birthday gift, but were about $150 each and we were no where near the stage. Not even in the "outfield". Great show though! Billy was going through divorce #756, I think.

Not sure I really have any, but I did go see Billy Squire just so I could see the opening act - Whitford/St. Holmes.

I just thought of another......Maria Conchita Alonzo. I just got off work in Mexico City and had a bucket of pesos and saw a crowd of girls outside a very small auditorium in La Zona Rosa near my subway station with Maria on the Marquee. Bored and knowing I could walk out anytime I bought a ticket and went in. It was fun for the way the crowd knew and sang along every lyric of every song so I had a few beers and crowd watched for a couple of hours. Years later I remember seeing Cafe Tecuba in the same place.

I have a couple of embarrassing ones...after my parents wouldn't let me see The Police in 7th grade, The Cars in 8th grade, or anything else that may have been remotely cool as a first concert, they finally allowed me to go to my first concert...Huey Lewis and the News. I showed them, I spent my high school years seeing anything and everything that would freak a parent out - Iron Maiden, Ozzy, GNR. My father still refers to my musical taste as 'bat eating music'.
...and I took my parents to see Neil Diamond a few years ago. I try to be really good to them now to make up for being a nightmare teenager. I love me some 'Cracklin Rosie'.

Wife and I saw Huey Lewis and News at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, probably before we were married. I thought it was a really good show.

7th grade. My dad's cousin got tickets at the last day of a festival, so she took me and my dad with her. That day was the one for traditional music. Sample:
I remember I was wearing a grey sweater and that it was the day I learned what playback was.
