What are your thoughts on Never Say Die!, Tomass? Unrelated, but I just wanted to make a note that I think "Sabotage" is basically the best thing they ever did. I love that record.
On an album-by-album basis, there are few short-but-brilliant careers that never missed a beat.
But on a song-by-song basis, I literally can't think of ANYONE who hasn't screwed it up. Even Led Zeppelin and the Beatles recorded some lame songs, there.
I have the entire collected works of Mozart in my music collection. Mozart is basically the #1 music celebrity in the entire history of our civilization, yet, even Mozart had a few dud songs. I was looking through my Mozart stuff and just realizing that even Mozart wasn't a totally perfect "Can do no wrong" type of artist. And his career burned fast and bright, dead at the age of 35.
Bottom line: There's nobody out there with a totally perfect track record.

Coop, you don't have any targets or bulleye's in the smileys!
I am definitely the odd one out here (hence looking for a target smiley), I hate Led Zep and think one of the worst songs ever written is 'Stairway To Heaven'. A few of their songs I kinda sorta like covers of. But for me Led Zep can do no right!

This one is a personal preference to me. I know that there are those out there that would probably disagree but I never heard her sing a song I didn't love. Anyway, I'd like to put Janis Joplin forth as well.

The below is for Mr Coop..it's part 1 of either an hour or hour and a half, an interview of 2 people from the band I detest the most, but you may not have seen it since it is an aussie one. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were interviewed in Australia by Andrew Denton during "No Quarter" tour 1994. On a previous show Denton had different Australian groups perform covers/interpretations of Stairway to Heaven, Rolf Harris's being the most famous. Rolf Harris's version is the reason I call it the worst song ever written!

Zen, I'm curious how an Aerosmith fan you can detest Led Zeppelin? They probably had the biggest influence on Aerosmith's sound and in the musical spectrum they are fairly similar. After giving multiple listens to both band's entire catalogs, it's hard to imagine Aerosmith having their sound without Zeppelin paving the way. What's the main difference you hear that makes you a huge Aerosmith yet dislike Led Zeppelin?

I detest blues, and there'd be no Zeppelin OR Aerosmith without blues. I can't even rationally explain it. There's no accounting for taste!

I wouldn't say i detest it (I save that designation for country, pop and rap). I could never get into Bobo for example. I guess in that case it would be the drastic change in tempo that makes me like rock music but dislike the blues.

I know that some people don't care for Robert's voice, so maybe that is it? I think his voice fits Zep perfectly, but I guess it is too high for some people's taste?

What's the main difference you hear that makes you a huge Aerosmith yet dislike Led Zeppelin? An honest answer.....I have absolutely no idea! I was introduced to Led Zep around the same time as Aerosmith also Alice Cooper and Deep Purple. I really like Alice Cooper and Deep Purple and quite a few other bands and not necessarily what I would call rock bands, think Sweet and Paperlace. I really can't explain why!
