Ozzy izzn't eazzy izzy?24/04/2014 ~ by Stef Lach Sabbath icon tops poll of most misheard vocalists Ozzy Osbourne has topped a list of the world’s most misheard singers – ahead of pop star Lady Gaga. The Black Sabbath frontman’s Birmingham accent might be responsible for some of the confusion. He famously had trouble with a car’s voice recognition system on an episode of reality TV show the Osbournes in 2003. A survey by UK video-on-demand service Blinkbox has revealed that Ozzy’s lyric from the song Crazy Train – ‘going off the rails on a crazy train’ – was often misheard as ‘going off the rails on a gravy train’. Audiences struggled to understand the singer on MTV show The Osbournes, although he says he was heavily medicated during much of the filming. The survey also highlighted Queen’s We Will Rock You as one of the most misheard, with ‘kicking your can all over the place’ often being mistaken for ‘kicking your cat all over the place’. Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer also confused the survey’s 2000 participants, with many thinking the lyric ‘doesn’t make a difference if we make it or not’ is actually ‘doesn’t make a difference if we’re naked or not’. And Gaga's 'Poker face' was thought by many to be 'poke her face.' www.classicrockmagazine.com/news/2014-04-24/ozzy-izzn-t-eazzy-izzy

The last list I saw had Blinded By the Light listed as the top for "revved up like a deuce another runner in the night" being misheard as a female hygiene product.

I haven't heard the Lady Gaga song by anyone who miss hears the other songs as alternatively pointed out is an idiot.

Yes, I definitely hear "douche" in that song. They are DEFINITELY misprounching "deuce" with way too much of an -shhhh sound.
Another severely misheard lyric in that same song:
"And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride"
I always mishear "in his" as "anus." Do you think Manfred Mann were purposely trolling us with that song?
****
I have a book called "'Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy," a collection of oft-misheard rock lyrics.
I'm surprised that Ozzy Osbourne is mentioned here because although he's unintelligible in his normal conversational speech, he usually tends to pronounce song lyrics very clearly -- and in fact, he stands out in my mind as being a particularly clear and easy-to-understand singer. He's one of the few rock singers where you can actually understand every single word he says, which is really bizarre because his speech is so garbled when he's not singing. I wouldn't categorize Ozzy as a "hard to understand" singer at all, and I've never misheard "Crazy Train" as "Gravy Train." Do you think the person who wrote this article is basically unfamiliar with rock singers and mainly chose to write about Ozzy based on his offstage presentation?

Come on, what about the famous "sick on my Big Ten Inch!"
As far as singers more misheard...what about Eddie Vedder? "Jeremy's smokin' grass today..."
