Not really about if you like Trump or not, like the media or not. But where do you think this will all end up realistically? Does it all fizzle out and the new president serves his one or two terms and all the chaos dissipates, or do we head for civil war?

80% chance it fizzles and he serves one term. 20% he doesn't make it that far for whatever reason.
And based on all the personal conflicts and opinions, I think I can safely predict that the next presidential election will see record turnout for voters.

Meet the new boss/same as the old boss. Not really I guess. But the issues and the fighting and the bitching and the demonstrations are the same as always. Hell, going back to #1, George Washington, they burned and hung him in effigy. Our country isn't happy unless one half is fighting with the other half. You'd think it would be about some of his questionable policy choices (and for some it really is about that I guess) but to me it's always about the same thing. "I'm right and you're wrong. What you don't agree? So you wanna fight about it?" That should be the motto of our nation.

He has not done anything or is there anything hinted at by common sense and true reporting that will see him not serve at least his full term. Good comments though.

I am not wishing for it nor condoning it in any way, but you don't think someone out there hates him enough to make an attempt on him? People are getting crazier everyday over this it seems.

I agree. As I have said here I voted for Clinton twice and one of my coolest memories is watching his plane take off a day or two before election 93 (or what ever year he first got elected) in the snow in Kansas City. I voted Bush and Obama once. I voted for Trump and love the guy. I have been independent in the truest sense. I will never vote democrat again in my life after the way they are acting now. No one has ever condoned going after first children in the past and the attempted destruction of Ivanka Trump just disgust me. It feels like it is going beyond just losing and bitching for 4 years and that really is the reason for my post, where does this go from here.
Right now they are going off on Trumps terrorism statement in Sweden on CNN. He just gets ahead of himself I think. I heard report after report about the refugees in Sweden and the terrorist acts they are pulling there. Was it that he said it was the night before that is the issue? I don't know. They were over the last months.

I am a hardcore Republican but teach at a university. How unusual is that?
There are groups of people (like many democrats and many at universities) who cannot handle people who speak directly and straightforwardly like Trump does. They are uncomfortable with direct statements, act surprised at them, and then act like things can never be that simple. They are caught up in their own ideology and are accustomed to making everything more complex than what it really is. I guess that makes them feel smarter than the "common guy", although the common guy is often correct. Although the SOLUTION to problems such as immigration, terrorism, etc, is often complex and requires some compromises, simply stating the problem in the first place is not that complex.
Anyway, I think that's why they hate Trump. I also love him so far. And if the stock market continues like this, I may be able to retire by his second term in office!

I think this sums up so damn much. I've come to despise so much of this elitist liberal snobbery. I know plenty of liberals who are not condescending like this but I think as a whole there's so much of that. Too often the left is too busy telling people what there interest are and demanding praise for being "smarter" than everyone else.

The problem is Trump is doing what he said and draining the swamp. Comey was part of that swamp as he did nothing to investigate Clinton and Obama's actual real crimes that should have put them both in prison. Now the press is actually making up stuff on a daily basis about Trump and reporting it like it's the truth.
The real story is the murder of Seth Rich and how come the FBI isn't investigating that? The local police called it a "robbery gone wrong" but there was nothing stolen. His wallet, money, and expensive watch was all left on him. He was murdered by Hillary's henchmen because he is the one that sent all of Hillary's e-mail's to Wikileaks. The only one reporting on this is Sean Hannity. All the rest of them are focused on Trump and the Russia non story.
Getting back to draining the swamp and the establishment. Trump is hated by the Democrat and Republican establishment. This is why you have idiots like John McCain calling for impeachment. They have this independent prosecutor investigating something but no one can tell me what he is investigating and what crimes have been committed. Don't you have to have a crime committed in order to have a prosecutor investigate something?
What is the scope of this investigation? Is it just a witch hunt on President Trump or are they going to investigate the Hillary and Obama Russian connection. You know Hillary giving 70% of our uranium to Russia in exchange for Bill C. Getting paid millions for a speaking gig in Russia? Or how about Obama telling the Russians that he will have more flexibility after his election? Will the Seth Rich murder be investigated as well since that all ties into this? What are we the tax payers paying this prosecutor for?
