I love what I do.
It's just that it consumes me and often makes me want to throw my laptop out the window.
(and myself with it)

I wondered the other day, as I was looking out over a local reservoir, whose job it is to put the "Danger, Thin Ice" signs out in the middle?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a ticket for the Malmsteen live stream. I probably would have done it already if this week hadn't been so full. There's no way all the songs from which he has teased little bits are going to make it into the set, so I'm not getting my hopes up about getting to hear personal faves as tempting as it may be to do that. But it should be a good one for me anyway. I find his style immensely satisfying and it's going to be a birthday show... well, night after birthday show because time zones, but whatever.

I actually prefer normal tea, not the one in individual bags. Though at the end of the day, it still comes in bags and boxes these days. Up until my early to mid 20s, when there weren't so many cars and everything wasn't so polluted and leaves and flowers were cleaner in the city, we'd actually take a bag and go find some linden trees to fill it up, then dry it all on top of the cupboards in the kitchen. And then make tea.
Now I buy it all. Just not the individual bags kind.

I'm giving up drinking for a month.
...Sorry, bad punctuation.
I'm giving up. Drinking for a month.

I got my first vaccine dose yesterday. Arrived 10 minutes early only to find 40 cars in line in front of me! Literally...I had plenty of time to count them. It got worse from there, but long story short, dose #1 is now complete.

I'm rocking back and forth in front of the laptop. I should go buy some stuff. Not just for me, I promised two other people I'd buy bread. And if nothing else, I need to keep my promise. But I'm so not in the mood to go out. I'm afraid, I guess? Not related to the shit virus. It's just things being different? The weather being different, being reminded of Easter. I don't like religious holidays in general, but Easter is the one I always dread the most. And this year it's in early May here and I'm terrified of... the long buildup? I really envy everyone else here because you just get it over with faster and then you're free. And it's also the fact that I should get fish. I've been putting it off because it's really scary to spend that much money at once. I get the same when I buy something online, especially since that's usually more expensive. A Hell lot more expensive when it came to things like Aerosmith tickets. When I bought those two tickets for the 2017 tour, that was my second most expensive purchase of the decade after the laptop I got in 2014. And what's even worse is knowing there's always the chance of something going bad until I actually get the damn thing and make sure everything is fine. Which is why it might take me weeks or more to decide to get something online.

I only drink four times a year: on Christmas, on New Year, on Easter and every day.

£6/kg so that leg will have cost around $18...
