I'll say the universe does funny things. Yesterday, once I was told they can supplement the list and get me in too, I left my ID with the guys at the computers and my coat on the coat hanger at the entrance. With my phone in the pocket. Filled in the form, bla bla bla, and just as I was going in for the vaccine... literally, as I was walking in, I heard my phone way behind me at the other end of the hallway. Incoming text. I obviously wasn't going to say "wait, I need to check my phone", so I only saw the text afterwards. It was a reminder about my vaccine appointment this Tuesday. The timing of that...

I had hernia surgery this morning. I also define emancipation as not having one's stomach and intestines infiltrating ones ball fucking sack any more.

I went really fast from "yikes, that must be painful" to laughing with tears while reading the above posts.

^ I'm happy for you...but I still can't believe I just 'liked' a post about your ball sack. So I'll come to your defense on this one. In fairness to you I did generalize with "ones ball sack" I also hope that this thread maybe changes subject matter?? Lest of course said subject matter remain funny then carry loves!

I had no idea this is a species of tobacco until today! It's called Regina Nopții in Romanian... which translates to The Queen of the Night. My dad's parents always had them in their garden and I always loved how the flowers would open in the evenings and fill the air with their lovely fragrance.

I'll be going to Vienna this summer. Remember the book events I had my eyes on last autumn, but didn't go to any of the first few that did get to happen and then everything was cancelled? Well, the book tour got rescheduled and I got a ticket for Vienna in mid-August. This is a seated event in a lovely outdoor setting in a park, in Austria almost half of the eligible population got at least one dose and that number has been going up by ~5% weekly over the past month or so... at least this kind of event has to be cleared to happen! This is the place: And I'll get to see Pepe too! I'm not optimistic about what will happen afterwards, but I'll try to take what I can get this summer.

I found... I believe they're called peonies in English? They look like this: Dad's mom would have turned 94 today, so I got them for her. A little over a week ago, I happened to see some at a flower stand in the same shopping complex as the supermarket I was just exiting. And I just got stuck on the thought that this is one kind of flowers I never got her before so far. This was in a shopping complex across the city and I was there only because I had gone for my second vaccine dose in that direction. So I hoped that maybe I'd get lucky and manage to find some closer to me? The weather was awful, really cold (pretty much the same temperatures we had in December) and rainy... so not really the best time to go around and I figured I'd probably end up getting big white lilies instead. Went to the flower stands at the market, the lilies seemed indeed like the best option there, but the guy at the stand asked me if I want peonies... I hadn't even seen them, but yes, he had a bucket full of them.
