The link I posted was from a USA web page. I was pointing out that it is *also* illegal in the U.K. to broadcast music without a licence, even for a local shop with a radio playing.
If you read Steven’s letter, you’ll see at they end they ask if there is a generic licence that actually allows them to play the songs, and if so to contact them.
Just because Steven has had his picture taken with Trump four years ago doesn’t mean Steven cannot ask Trump (or Bush or Clinton or anyone else) to stop playing his songs without a licence.
People saying they are going to delete their music or are burning CDs over this are batshit crazy. All the name calling shows how butthurt people are because someone told Trump off, poor little snowflakes...
How are you going to react when Melania files the mother of all divorce suits because it has been proven that Trump has cheated on her repeatedly, lied about it repeatedly, and even paid people off to try and protect his “family man” image while running for the highest office in the land?

Yup... Which one is Steven?
Ok that was a bit close to those simpleton "Dude looks like a lady" jokes that I find so pathetic, but damn, Melania and Steven sure do look like siblings.

^Okay, now that I look at it... Steven does happen to be the hottest chick in that picture. Weird. I am aware Melania looks better than Steven, lol. It's just a good picture of him and... not a good picture of her! In any event, it's irrelevant. As far as I know, Steven has been enjoying Trump's company a lot more recently than 2014 - so what? They could have had dinner together last night and it would still be irrelevant. As a Romanian proverb says... "you may be my brother, but the cheese ain't free!" Trump's use of the song qualifies as commercial. He should have asked for permission and paid. Especially given the position he's in - he should be setting a positive example. In this particular case, by acknowledging that music is worth something. And the way that's done is by asking for permission and paying before using a song. Not doing so is extremely irresponsible because it's setting a dangerous precedent (sadly, he's the only politician who has done this... he just happens to be the most famous one). It's spitting in the face of every artist who isn't lucky enough to be in Steven's shoes. And that's most artists. Steven's one of the very few lucky ones who can afford a lawyer if people who stand to gain by using his work use it without paying. But unlike Steven, most can't do anything it they get taken advantage of. Eh, fuck artists, who needs them anyway, right? As for the responses Steven got... good grief, logical fallacies on a string! I'd also feel tempted to say most of those people sound like they've escaped from some psychiatric ward... or from some zoo... but I'm not the most qualified person to evaluate that. Anyway, those replies are the kind of thing that makes me think people should pass an IQ test, take a course in critical thinking, pass an exam at the end and only then be allowed to put something on the internet. This applies to both Trump opponents and supporters, by the way.

I think Steven looks better in that picture because he doesn’t have the shit under his nose like he does now lol!
