Tonight is the night. Recent events have me nervous (a disastrous performance on the Golden Gods) but rumors of Duff filling in for Stinson, plus a 30-34 song set list this last tour give me hope. I'll post a set list and more either tonight or tomorrow, depending on what time the band goes on and when the show finishes up. Should I take my tablet to try to get some shots or should I worry about Axl leaping into the audience at me?

So this is a question for those that have seen GNR recently. The ticket says the show starts at 9. Is that when the opening act goes on or GNR? If it's the opener, what time does Guns go on? I ask because Jason is buggin because he has to be up at six tomorrow morning for work.

Not bad at all! Even got a little Star Spangled Banner thrown in the mix.

Let us know how the show goes. I hope it's a good one, and I also hope that Duff is still playing with them. It's cool to have at least one of the original five members up there with Axl.

Pardon my language throughout this post, but what I saw tonight was UNFUCKING REAL. I can't hear, I can't speak. I got beer spilled all over me. I got groped twice. There were two fistfights in my general vicinity. Cops came at one point and pulled two ladies out of the show. Weed was smoked all around me, but none offered The band was AWESOME. Axl sounded okay, I guess. He was backing vocal to the audience. Who would've thought that 3500 people could sound like 17000. From the opening song to the close of Paradise City, it was a roller coaster, a wave of people, singing along dancing, bumping into each other, wow. The set list was off the hook. Apparently its the same set list used over and over this tour, but I understand why. It fucking rocks. Hard. Best moments for me were You Could Be Mine, Its So Easy, Nighttrain, November Rain, Don't Cry, The Seeker, Estranged. I can't wait until people start posting video. Knocking on Heaven's Door was incredible. The crowd participation was great. What is funny though is the crowd was fucking Axl up because we are all singing the studio version and he's trying to switch it up a little bit. Now onto the bad. There is no fucking need for a ten minute intro for each person in the band. My God, get it over with. Axl's voice improved throughout the night. I think he had to get going. But honestly, it was hard to hear him half the time because the crowd was so raucous and enjoyed singing along so much. The start time wasn't bad. They went on at 10:35. And played nonstop. The break between the finale and the encore was almost nonexistent. DJ Ashba went a long way in proving himself to be a fucking badass to me tonight. I did miss Slash throughout the whole show (that can't be helped) but I was very impressed with this guy. I enjoyed his running man while playing, made me laugh. At one point I think he pissed off a tech because during Knocking on Heaven's Door this dude stood in the wings and kept lobbing guitar picks at the back of his head until another tech came over and smacked the guy. He stormed off behind the curtain and then came out and started throwing the picks into the audience. The new stuff went over okay. To me there is no fucking reason to open with Chinese Democracy. Get that shit out of there and open with Welcome to the Jungle. The crowd was a little "eh" during CD, but when Jungle started they tore the roof of the fucking place. Anyway, here's the set. Intro (10:35PM) Chinese Democracy Welcome To The Jungle It's So Easy Mr. Brownstone Rocket Queen Estranged Better Richard Fortus guitar solo Live And Let Die This I Love Chatterbox (Stinson on vocals, NY Dolls cover) Dizzy Reed piano solo Catcher In The Rye You Could Be Mine DJ ASHBA guitar solo Sweet Child O' Mine Jam (Baby I'm Gonna Leave You-Led Zeppelin) Axl piano solo November Rain Abnormal (Bumblefoot song) Don't Cry Knockin' On Heaven's Door Nightrain ******Encore****** Patience The Seeker (The Who cover) Jam Paradise City Nick, I was given bad info. Duff wasn't there. Neither was Izzy. That kinda sucked, but they still did a great job regardless.

I didn't really catch much of the opener. I saw them do one song and they were awesome for being so young. I was out on the floor gambling. (won 75 bucks)

I seem to remember Duff saying he signed on for 8 shows mostly in South America.

*cringes* I guess there was reason to be happy not being able to really hear Axl last night. Yikes.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Your description certainly captured the experience far better than my previous post. Watching the crappy youtube videos after I had enjoyed seeing them live (twice), I thought maybe I had missed something and was embarrassing myself for raving about the show. Guess they are just more of a live band.

Guns N’ Roses Cover Who Classic at Rock on the Range Warm-Up Gigby Nick DeRiso May 14, 2014 12:57 PM Guns N’ Roses tore through a muscular version of the Who‘s ‘Seeker‘ last night (May 13) in a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania warmup gig for this year’s Rock on the Range. Their sold out, two-and-a-half-hour set at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center also included ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ ‘Paradise City‘ (complete with a lengthy intro), ‘Patience,’ ‘You Could Be Mine,’ ‘Nightrain,’ ‘Mr. Brownstone,’ ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine,’ ‘It’s So Easy’ and ‘November Rain.’ Next, Guns N’ Roses joins Kid Rock, Slayer and Avenged Sevenfold at the huge annual Rock on the Range music festival in Ohio, followed by an intimate residency in Las Vegas. You can buy tickets for those Sin City shows, which kick off May 21, right here. “There’s nothing real solid after that,” GNR’s Dizzy Reed told Sight of Sound. As for additional surprise covers, or even the prospect of hearing new material over these next dates, Reed says: “You never know. You just never know.” This was Guns N’ Roses first performance in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley since a 1987 show at the former Airport Road Music Hall. Axl Rose and company earlier covered this Who classic as part of their 2012 run in Vegas.
